Sydney Roosters re-sign Blake Ferguson for two more years

Sydney Roosters centre Blake Ferguson has capped his return to the NRL by re-signing with the club for a further two seasons.

The controversial 25-year-old has enjoyed a strong first season with the club following a 17-month exile from the game, after he was sacked by Canberra for missing training and numerous instances of off-field misbehaviour.

Offered a lifeline by the Roosters, he has repaid their trust with six tries in 11 games despite a stretch on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

"The club has looked after me and I really feel like I've found a home here," said Ferguson.

"There's a strong culture here at the club and I'm excited to be able to continue my football career with the Roosters."

Roosters coach Trent Robinson was pleased Ferguson would remain at the club.

"He's worked hard to gain the trust and respect of the coaching staff and his team-mates via his attitude to training and his commitment to being a positive contributor off the field as well," he said.

"I have no doubt that Blake will continue to work hard and be a keen contributor at our club over the next few years."
