According to reports from Brentwood Gazette, West Ham are preparing a £25million transfer bid for Liverpool midfielder and reported Tottenham target Jordan Henderson.
The England international has been a key figure in the Reds’ starting Xi since the start of the 2013/14 campaign and inherited the armband from Steven Gerrard last summer.
The Merseysiders will be reluctant to let him leave, especially considering his Anfield contract doesn’t expire until summer 2020, but interest in the 25-year-old appears to be growing ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a £25million transfer bid for the industrious midfielder earlier this month and the latest reports from the Brentwood Gazette suggest West Ham are ready to rival any approach from their London neighbours.
The regional newspaper reports that the Hammers will look to ‘test Liverpool’s resolve with a £25million bid’ of their own in the coming transfer window, whilst also claiming the Reds’ recent struggles for form will see a number of other Premier League clubs come in for the former Sunderland ace.
