The hosts were promoted back to the top flight this season but they are in danger of going straight back down. They currently sit in 18th place having lost nine times this term, although it is worth noting that they are only two points from safety and have two games in hand over the clubs above them.

Opponents, Getafe, aren't faring much better as they are in 15th place and while they haven't lost quite as many times as Gijon - eight in their case - a defeat here would see them be leapfrogged in the table.

It's the goals that we're focusing on here though and with 15 scored and 25 conceded in their 16 outings, Abelardo Fernández's side are seeing their fixtures average dead on 2.5 goals each time. A total of nine have seen this selection land, four of which came from their five most recent home games.

The visitors have an even higher average at the 2.59 mark and while only eight of their 17 have seen under 2.5 layers paid out, their last four scorelines on the road were 5-0, 3-1, 4-1 and 2-2. It's also worth noting that Fran Escribá's men were beaten 3-1 at Athletic Club earlier in the campaign meaning that five of their eight away from home have ended with at least four goals being scored.

I was convinced that under 2.5 goals would be nearer evens than this, so with it trading as short as 1.70, I have to make it my lay of the day.
