2021 NRL Round 4 – Tips, Predictions & Odds

8:05pm Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers @ Lottoland

The Panthers remained unbeaten when getting the better of the Melbourne Storm last Thursday.

It was a tough performance without Nathan Cleary in the squad and that win will do them plenty of good for the rest of the season.

Manly comes off a 38-12 loss to the Dragons and there isn’t much to get excited about for Sea Eagles fans. They have been awful in 2021 and another loss looms.

The current margin is 20 points, which is very high. Although Manly are a bad side, we think they can lose by 16 points on Thursday.

Friday 2/04/21

6:05pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs @ Stadium Australia

The Rabbitohs showed their premiership ambitions when beating up the Sydney Roosters last week.

It was one of the best NRL performances this season and it has seen the Rabbitohs’ odds for the NRL title firm in considerably.

They should have no problems scoring a win over Canterbury on Friday, which is in for a long season. The Bulldogs couldn’t score a point against Brisbane, so that’s an awful form guide.

South Sydney has to cover a huge spread, but they’re good enough.

8:05pm Melbourne Storm vs Brisbane Broncos @ AAMI Park

The Melbourne Storm are currently lower on the table than Brisbane, but expect that to change relatively soon.

Melbourne has faced tough opposition to start the season and it will enjoy facing a team likely to miss the top eight this season.

The Broncos come off a 24-0 win over the Bulldogs, but Melbourne is far too good for the Queensland-based franchise on Friday.

Saturday 3/04/21

5:30pm Cronulla Sharks vs North Queensland Cowboys @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

The season went from bad to worse for the Cowboys on Sunday, losing to the Gold Coast Titans 44-8.

It has been a disappointing start for the Cowboys, but it was expected. They are floundering in the NRL and we don’t see it changing any time soon.

Cronulla were given respect against the Eels, starting as the +7.5 underdog. However, that was quickly erased in the 28-4 loss.

Cronulla has more upside than North Queensland, so they should score a comfortable Round 4 win.

7:35pm Gold Coast Titans vs Canberra Raiders @ Cbus Super Stadium

Canberra comes off a devasting loss to the New Zealand Warriors, so we don’t know why they are favoured to beat Gold Coast.

The Titans were too strong for the North Queensland Cowboys and they don’t have any significant injuries to worry about, unlike the Raiders.

We expect big money to come for the Titans throughout the week and punters should jump on the value odds.

Sunday 4/04/21

4:05pm Newcastle Knights vs St George Dragons @ McDonald Jones Stadium

The Knights had their chance to beat the Wests Tigers on Sunday but they didn’t take their opportunities.

Newcastle must now hold off the St George Dragons, who have found form in 2021. The Dragons come off back-to-back wins, but losing Ben Hunt was a big blow.

He is their general, but a confident Dragons team is capable of coping. We predict an upset in Round 4.

6:15pm Sydney Roosters vs New Zealand Warriors @ SGC

The Warriors did amazingly to beat the Canberra Raiders on Saturday, but it’s about to get ten times tougher.

Sydney will be eager to bounce back from the loss to the Rabbitohs and the Warriors could be in for a shock. Punters should expect the Roosters to come out firing against a Warriors outfit that is doing well to stay in the mix.

The Roosters often play well against the Kiwis and although Luke Keary is out, they should get the job done.

Monday 5/04/21

4:00pm Wests Tigers vs Parramatta Eels @ Stadium Australia

The Easter Monday clash sees the Tigers and Eels coming off strong Round 3 wins, so a good contest is expected.

The Tigers battled back against the Newcastle Knights and the Parramatta Eels thrashed the Cronulla Sharks 28-4 on Saturday night.

Parramatta is a team that should go close to the minor premiership this season, so the Tigers could get blown off the park on Monday.
