Tottenham (12/5 to lift the trophy with Coral)
and Chelsea (1/3 odds-on favourites) face off for their first Capital
One Cup final since 2008, when a Juande Ramos-led Spurs came out 2-1
winners after extra time.
These two teams have enjoyed head-fought and entertaining battles over the years too, so back another draw in 90 minutes at 16/5.
In five of their last seven mattings in all competitions, they have
managed a match total of four goals or more, and you can take tempting
odds of 2/1 for their to be more than 3.5 once more.
Both clubs, though, come in to this game in a shaky run of form, with
Chelsea drawing their last two, against Burnley (Premier League) and
PSG (Champions League), and Spurs without a win in their last four.
They have met this season twice already meanwhile, with Tottenham
coming out on top 5-3 in a thriller at White Hart Lane, and the Blues
easing to a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.
The two danger men from either side in those fixtures were Harry Kane
and Eden Hazard, who gained a pair of goals across both games.
You can back prolific Kane, who was controversially left out of the
starting line-up in Spurs’ recent 2-0 loss against Fiorentina in the
Europa League, at 15/8 to net in 90 minutes,
or 10/1 for two or more again. The youngster has a terrific 24 goals in
all competitions this season, and represents his side’s main threat at
Wembley.
Chelsea’s Hazard, meanwhile, who has 13 strikes and as many assists to his name this term, is 7/4 in the anytime market.
Diego Costa represents his team’s best chance in terms of goals, as he
has 17 (all in the Premier League) this season, and he is odds-on at
10/11 for another in normal time.
To get to the final this year, neither Chelsea nor Spurs had a
particularly difficult route, with the duo facing just one top-flight
side apiece (Liverpool and Newcastle United respectively).
Jose Mourinho will be looking to earn his first piece of silverware
for the Blues since returning to Stamford Bridge, and his team are
odds-on favourites at 4/7 to win in 90 minutes, despite being without
suspended Nemanja Matic.
Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, has claimed no trophies as a manger
to date, but is Tottenham are 5/1 for victory in normal time.
