Port Adelaide v Geelong
Sat 7:40pm at Adelaide Oval

Port Adelaide will host Geelong on Saturday night at Adelaide Oval, in what is shaping up to be the match of the round. Port were lucky to get away with the win against the Lions 2 weeks ago, before they let the Bombers walk all over them last round, and Ken Hinkley will be expecting a BIG response in front of home fans for ANZAC round. That won’t be easy against the Cats, despite a few injury woes- with ‘Dangerwood’ up to their old tricks and Adelaide boy Daniel Menzel hardly putting a foot wrong this season. The tall timber of Charlie Dixon, Todd Marshall, Jack Watts and Justin Westhoff will be a lot for this young Cats defence to contain without Harry Taylor, and Chris Scott will be hoping his midfield can gain the ascendancy early.
Form
Port Adelaide (WWWL) – The previously undefeated Power were humbled by the Bombers last round, in an alarming performance. Port lacked urgency and were soft around the ball, drawing ire from a number of respected footy critics. Robbie Gray was a bright spot through the midfield, however, and the small forward/midfielder is averaging 29 disposals per game this season- up from 19 in 2017.
Geelong (WLLW) – The Cats have certainly lost their aura of invincibility in 2018, but they still comfortably accounted for St. Kilda last round, despite their massively inexperienced defence. Patrick Dangerfield has returned from injury with no ill effects, and Daniel Menzel is in the form of his life- but they will need more contributors against a Power side with impressive depth.

What To Expect
This game has a real dartboard job feel about it. The Wolf thinks Port are a little short ($1.53) after 2 poor performances but Saturday night at home should fire them up. Their very poor record against Geelong is well documented, but this Cats side is a little different from years gone by and the young defence is up against what can be the most potent forward line in the League. Wolfie is siding with Port at home, just.
