2020 NRL Round 12 – Preview, Expert Betting Tips & Odds
We have expert betting tips for all NRL Round 12 games this week, which kicks off with the Dragons vs. Rabbitohs on Thursday night.
It was a crazy week of action in Round 10 and punters got the cash with many of the favourites winning. We’re hoping Round 11 is just as good, which features quality action throughout the week.
Thursday 30/7/20
7:50pm St George Dragons vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs @ Netstrata Jubilee Stadium
The Dragons got off to a hot start against the Sharks last week, but they came crashing back down the earth quickly.
They lead 14-6 with 15 minutes to go in the first half and subsequently gave up three consecutive tries to close out the half.
Also coming off a loss are the Rabbitohs, who went down fighting against the Raiders. They looked the better side and should take the Thursday night clash.
Betting tip: Rabbitohs to win @ $1.54

6:00pm Wests Tigers vs. New Zealand Warriors @ SCG
It was the final game for many of the Warriors players last week and they played with distinction when losing to the Sydney Roosters.
However, they now have to shuffle the side and that will play into the hands of the Tigers, who are coming off a 26-16 defeat at the hands of the Parramatta Eels.
The Tigers looked good in patches last Thursday night and they have had over a week to rest and recover. That should be the difference between these two sides.
Betting tip: Tigers –13.5 @ $1.90

7:55pm Brisbane Broncos vs. Cronulla Sharks @ Suncorp Stadium
The Broncos continue to give up big wins and they now face a Sharks team that is one of the best offensive outfits in the league.
Cronulla came from behind to beat the Dragons on Saturday night and it was a comprehensive outing. The game got a close at the end but the Sharks always looked in control.
It would take a brave punter to continue backing the Broncos and we wouldn’t recommend it, despite improvement likely to come at some stage.
Betting tip: Sharks to win @ $1.50

Saturday 1/8/20
3:00pm Sydney Roosters vs. Gold Coast Titans @ SCG
The Roosters were clucking against the Warriors but they got the job done in the end. It was a less-than-stellar performance from a side that is battling injuries.
They will need to rely on class to get them through the middle stages of the season but facing the Titans should pose too many problems.
Gold Coast is coming off a loss to Penrith, where they covered the betting spread. The +22.5 points is a lot to receive this week and we’re leaning the Titans way.
Betting tip: Titans +22.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm North Queensland Cowboys vs. Canberra Raiders @ Queensland Stadium
The Cowboys continue to slip further down the NRL ladder following their loss to the Manly Sea Eagles.
They have struggled from the outset and despite having high expectations in 2020, those haven’t materialised.
Canberra got back to their best with a hard-fought win over the Rabbitohs. They weren’t at their best but they are a finals team and should be too good for the Cowboys.
Bookmakers have eight points between them and the Raiders could sneak home with the cover.
Betting tip: Raiders -8 @ $1.90

7:35pm Manly Sea Eagles vs. Penrith Panthers @ Lottoland
The Penrith Panthers maintained their position at the top of the ladder last week and they could keep that run going against Manly.
It wasn’t as easy as many had expected against the Titans. However, conditions made it tough on all teams last weekend.
Manly is coming off a strong win over the Cowboys and when they get fit, they could contest for the premiership. At this point in time, however, the advantage goes to Penrith.
Betting tip: Panthers to win @ $1.55

Sunday 2/8/20
2:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs. Parramatta Eels @ ANZ Stadium
Canterbury pulled off a big upset over the Newcastle Knights last Sunday but this would be a mammoth task to beat the Eels.
Parramatta are one of the better sides in the competition and even on their off weeks, they are still good enough to beat most teams.
The Bulldogs won’t be standing in their way and the only question is about the 16.5-point spread. The Eels are potent at best and if the conditions are good, expect a big scoreline.
Betting tip: Eels –16.5 @ $1.90

4:05pm Melbourne Storm vs. Newcastle Knights @ Sunshine Coast Stadium
The Knights added more injuries to their growing list when losing to the Bulldogs last week. They are now down another two players, which makes facing the Storm a daunting task.
On the other hand, the Melbourne Storm continue to do their thing and with style. They have been crushing teams of late and the Knights could be in for a long Sunday afternoon.
With the current line at 12.5, there is value with the home side.
Betting tip: Storm –12.5 @ $1.90
