International Friendlies Tips: Improving Germany still prone to conceding

Germany will concede in victory according to Dan Fitch, as he preview's Wednesday international friendlies.

Home win for Austria

Austria 1.84 v Greece 4.60; The Draw 3.40

Austria are capable of losing when you least expect it, but they have been in good form over the last year or so, losing only two of their last ten games (W7 D1).

Though Greece are unbeaten in five (W4 D1), their opponents have been at a lower level than Austria. With home advantage, Austria are a decent price at 1.84 to win.

Turkey can score in Germany

Germany 1.42 v Turkey 8.20; The Draw 4.60

Turkey have only won one of their last five (D3 L1) and that run looks unlikely to end against a German team that have recovered well since back-to-back failures at the 2018 World Cup and the inaugural Nations League.

Following their Nations League disappointment, Germany have lost just one of their subsequent twelve matches (W7 D4). In that run their only clean sheets have come against Belarus, Estonia and Northern Ireland, so a Germany win and both teams to score could land at 3.50.

Mexico have poor record in away friendlies

Netherlands 1.76 v Mexico 4.20; The Draw 3.70

The one side to have beaten Germany in those aforementioned twelve matches, were Holland. Ronald Koeman has been in charge for the Dutch revival over the past couple of years, but has departed for Barcelona and been replaced by Frank de Boer.

This will be De Boer's first match in charge and he should get off to a winning start against a Mexico side that have lost six of their last seven away friendlies without scoring a goal. Back Netherlands to win to nil at 3.30.

Pole stars will shine

Poland 1.74 v Finland 5.10; The Draw 3.70

Since the start of 2019, Poland are unbeaten in five home matches (W4 D1) and they should add to that record when they host Finland.

The Finns have lost four of their last seven matches (W3), with two of their victories coming against international minnows Armenia and Liechtenstein. Poland are 1.74 to win.

Croatia games guarantee goals

Switzerland 2.30 v Croatia 2.82; The Draw 3.30

This looks like one of the most evenly matched games from this night of friendlies and it therefore makes sense to stay away from the result markets.

That's especially true when over 2.5 goals is available at 1.95. Croatia's defensive ability has seen a big decline over the past couple of years, with 13 of their last 15 matches seeing three goals or more scored.

Ukraine can pull off surprise result

France 1.27 v Ukraine 16.00; The Draw 6.00
Wednesday 7 October, 20:10

Ukraine were thrashed 4-0 by Spain in their last outing, which has probably contributed to France being so short here.

Yet when you look at Ukraine's form, that result could be something of an anomaly. Ukraine were unbeaten for the previous twelve games (W7 D4), which included two games against the reigning European and Nations League champions Portugal W1 D1). France have drawn two of their last four friendlies (W2) and it's worth taking a chance of another stalemate at big odds of 6.00.
