We have expert betting tips for the AFL Grand Final this Saturday between the Richmond Tigers and Geelong Cats.

Richmond reach yet another AFL final but standing in their way are the Geelong Cats, who have been purring throughout the 2020 finals.

Richmond showed why they continue to make Grand Finals when beating the Port Adelaide Power last week.

The 46-40 performance was as tough as they come and despite playing the best regular-season team, they were too tough defensively.

The Tigers rely on playing excellent team football and that was evident in the 46-point display. They aren’t going to blow you off the park in the scoring department, but they will battle for all its worth in the trenches.

Looking to counter that toughness are the Geelong Cats, who were far too good for the Brisbane Lions on Saturday. The 82-42 win signaled their intentions this season and you can never write off the Cats.

Geelong frustrated the Lions in the early stages before pulling away late. They never gave Brisbane a chance and they could have converted their 16 behinds into more points.

It wasn’t the perfect performance from Geelong, which could scare the Tigers. The likes of Patrick Dangerfield and Gary Albett were strong in the middle, and Tom Hawkins is always a goal-kicking threat.

Geelong has star players throughout their lineup, but so do the Tigers. Tom Lynch has been in superb form but we have been impressed with Daniel Rioli.

He has been battling well and giving good service to the excellent goal scorers for Richmond, which also includes Dusty Martin and Jack Riewoldt.

Dustin Martin always plays well in the big moments he would be our top pick for most disposals at $4.50.

For the Grand Final winner market, we are going with the Tigers. They are the slight favourites at $1.80 and that’s fair given how well Geelong played last week.

However, the more consistent team this season has been the Tigers. They also own a plethora of finals experience, which shouldn’t be overlooked.

The neutral venue won’t do their chances any harm and because we are expecting a low-scoring encounter, that favours this tough Richmond outfit.

Richmond Tigers vs. Geelong Cats exotic betting predictions

The first goal scorer option is a great way to find early value and we have two players worth backing for Saturday’s final.

Tom Lynch scored only one goal last week against Port Adelaide, so we are expecting a much better performance this time around.

The classy Tiger is the second favourite in the match at $8.50, behind only Tom Hawkins for the Cats. Punters are getting excellent value for Lynch and he should be the target for the Tigers early in the game.

Another player we like is Jack Riewoldt. He is also coming off a one-score game, but he will be eager to establish dominance early over his defensive counterpart.

Expect the experienced forward to get into a good position and take a big mark before slotting the opening goal. Riewoldt is paying $12 to score first with Sportsbet.

We talked about Dustin Martin having the most disposals and exotic punters can lock in the early value. $4.50 for Martin is good shopping as he should be around the ruck throughout the night.

He loves to get involved in big games and given his form in 2020, we would expect nothing less from the premiership winner.

Another exotic market we like to look of is the most goals option, which is split into team options. Go with Tom Lynch to score more goals than his Geelong teammates, which pays $4.20 with bookmakers.

2020 Norm Smith Medal expert betting predictions

The Norm Smith Medal goes to the best player on the field in the AFL Grand Final. There are many excellent players in Saturday’s final, but we have two players at stand above the rest.

Dustin Martin is the current $4.50 favourite and he deserves all the attention. Dusty is in fine form and because of his position, he is always in the thick of the action.

He loves the big stage and we are expecting another fine performance from the 29-year-old star.

It is rare that someone like Tom Lynch would win the Norm Smith Medal, but he could be in for a big game on the scoring front.

If Lynch can score a few goals, he’ll make his claim for the medal. We like him to score first and if he can kick around three or four goals, his odds of $17 will be cut dramatically.

Overall, punters can’t go wrong backing Dustin Martin. He is often the best player on the ground and he lives for Grand Finals.
