Leeds v Crystal Palace: Hosts will score against leaky Eagles

Leeds are struggling to score but Dan Fitch fancies goals from both teams when Marcelo Bielsa's team hosts Crystal Palace.

Goals no longer flowing at Leeds

Leeds will be looking to distance themselves from the relegation zone when they host Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

There was a possibility for Leeds to slip into the bottom three over the weekend, but they were spared that prospect when Burnley's match with Spurs was postponed on Sunday. Leeds had taken a point on Saturday night, when they drew 0-0 at Brighton, leaving them in 17th place and three points ahead of Burnley.

The draw stretched Leeds' run without a win to three games (D2 L1), during which they have only scored two goals. Last season Leeds were the great entertainers of the Premier League, but with a total of 12 goals from 13 games during this campaign, there are only three sides that have scored less.

Patrick Bamford is said to be in the final stages of his recovery after injury and the England striker has been badly missed. Luke Ayling and Robin Koch are also said to be near to a return.

Set pieces still an issue for Palace

It's been a promising start for Crystal Palace, but they have one clear problem that they need to sort out fast.

No team in the Premier League has conceded more goals from set pieces. Of the 19 goals that Palace have let in this season, 10 have come from set pieces, including one of Aston Villa's goals when they beat Patrick Vieira's team 2-1 on Saturday.

Considering that set pieces account for over half of the goals that Palace are conceding, the upside should they solve this issue, is obvious. Vieira has spoken out regarding his frustration at this continuing trend and it will be a test of his coaching methods, to see if he's able to resolve the issue.

Joachim Anderson missed the game against Aston Villa with a hamstring injury. Nathan Ferguson and James McArthur remain out.

Stats point to a draw

Leeds are the 2.56 favourites, with a Crystal Palace win at 3.1 and the draw out at 3.4.

With fans returning to matches this season, there was hope that Elland Road would become a fortress. Instead, Leeds have won only one of their six home games in the Premier League (D3 L2).

Palace have only lost two of their six away games in the Premier League and they were at Chelsea and Liverpool (W1 D3). They beat Manchester City and have claimed draws at West Ham and Arsenal. It's therefore hard to see them getting beat by a Leeds team in poor form. The draw is worth considering at 3.4, while Crystal Palace are 1.63 in the Double Chance market.

No repeat of goalless draw for Leeds

Goals have not come easily for Leeds this season, but they have found the net in five of their six Premier League games at home.

With Crystal Palace struggling defensively, both teams to score seems a fairly safe bet at 1.78. It's landed in six of Palace's last eight games. Eight of the Londoners' 13 games this season have seen at least three goals scored and over 2.5 is available at 2.02.

Raphinha is the top scorer for Leeds with five goals, so he looks big at 4.9 to find the net. For Crystal Palace, Connor Gallagher, Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke all have four goals. It could be Gallagher that represents the value then at 5.25, with Zaha at 3.3 and Benteke at 3.5.
