Wolves v Liverpool tips: Rampant Reds to roll on at Molineux

Paul Higham expects Liverpool to continue their scoring form at Wolves, where skipper Jordan Henderson represents value to play a part in the goals.

Low-key Wolves build on defence

After a sticky start for Bruno Lage, Wolves have quietly risen up the table to challenge for the top six places after recovering from losing four of their first five to suffer just one defeat in the next nine (W5 D4).

It may surprise a few to see them challenging the top six as we've not heard much of this low-key Wolves, who don't score many and are often last up on Match of the Day when playing out a series of drab encounters.

They've only scored 12 goals this season and found the net just once in their last four games with back-to-back 0-0s against Norwich and Burnley not exactly ideal form to take into a game against a rampant Liverpool side.

Lage is building his side on defence though, and only Man City and Chelsea have conceded fewer goals so they'll again try to frustrate their opponents as just five league goals at Molineux suggests they won't carry too much goal threat.

Rampant Reds on record run

Jurgen Klopp's side may only be third, but they are smashing records left, right and centre with their remarkable goal scoring exploits. After a huge win at Old Trafford they had their biggest win at Goodison since 1982 on Wednesday.

It's the consistency in their heavy scoring which is so incredible, as the Reds have scored at least two goals in a record 18 straight games, breaking Sunderland's top-flight record from 1926-27, while they're 14 straight away games bagging twice or more beat Preston's 13 from 1888-89!

Klopp's men have scored 43 with Mohamed Salah bagging 13 in the league already and 19 goals in 19 games overall - not a bad return for the seventh best player in the world according to the Ballon d'Or voters.

They've had their issues defensively in some games, but overall they've only conceded 12 in the league and have kept seven clean sheets in their last 11 games overall and in the midfield three of Thiago, Fabinho and Henderson Klopp seems to have his preferred combination for control and attacking threat.

The big danger could be an "after the Lord Mayor's show" performance from Liverpool on a short turnaround after such an emotional victory in the derby.

Can Wolves keep the Reds from the door?

No surprises in the prices for this one with Liverpool at 1.45 and Wolves as big as 8.8 on the exchanges - even the home side to get a draw is not rated as even remotely likely with 5.0 on them being able to earn a point.

The bookies can't really decide if Wolves will be able to find the net as it's around about the same price for both teams to score as not, but they are predicting goals, with over 2.5 priced at just 1.7 with the belief Liverpool's attack will win out against Wolves' defence.

It's also just 1.44 that Liverpool maintain their run of scoring two goals away from home, and they've been doing much better than that - as they scored at least three in their first eight away games of the season and have done so in nine of their 11 road trips.

Liverpool are 2.6 to score three goals or more at Molineux

With the Reds such big favourites there's not too much value about, but the 3.75 for them to score a penalty might be worth a look - as only Newcastle have given away more spot-kicks than Wolves this season.

Liverpool usually start fast but even if they score Wolves won't be changing their style until later in the game - although the Reds have shown how they can be got at, Wolves haven't exactly been storming forward and it's worth backing Liverpool to win to nil at 2.5

All eyes on Salah but Henderson is value

All eyes are on Mohamed Salah and so they should - he's rightly being proclaimed as one of the best in the world right now but in truth he's been cranking out this type of production since the day he set foot in Anfield.

Salah has bagged 13 goals in nine away games - only failing to register in one of those eight road trips and while he's just 1.83 to score again, he's also 3.2 to provide an assist. It's not talked about enough but Salah also leads the assist charts this season with eight!

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson continue to provide goals from full-back, with Alexandr-Arnold 2.8 favourite to set-up another goal and Robertson 3.8 after he laid on two at Goodison.

Diogo Jota predictably scored the winner on his return to Molineux in March and he looks sharper and sharper as he gets an extended run in the absence of Roberto Firmino. He's 2.5 to score again against his old club

But for some value we're taking a look at Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who had a goal and an assist against Everton as he starts to add a lot more production to his game playing in a slightly advanced role in Klopp's midfield.

Tactically, with Fabinho and Thiago holding the fort in midfield Henderson is able to operate further forward, lead the press and also attack mainly down the right combining with Alexander-Arnold and Salah.

He's always had an underrated level of skill and technique but he's now putting it to use, with two goals and three assists in his last five outings, average an assist every 93 minutes in that spell. And his 17 chances created in the league this season puts him sixth.

Throw in the fact he's got two assists in his last three games against Wolves and he's definitely value at 7.0 in the anytime assist stakes in a game Liverpool should dominate, giving him plenty of the ball to work with.
