<span style="background-color: white;">Steven Gerrard has yet to win a trophy with Rangers and the pressure will be on the Ibrox club to pick up some silverware this season. The prospect of Celtic winning a historic tenth consecutive Premiership title will also weigh heavily on them.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Rangers will be keen to get off to a strong start, but they haven't been given an easy opener. Derek McInnes' side won't win any prizes for their style of play, but they are well organised and hard to break down, and in Sam Cosgrove, have a genuine goal threat. They earned two draws from three encounters with Rangers last season and at the current odds, the draw looks the value bet here.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">A repeat of that performance could see them struggle against an improving Manly side bidding for a third win on the bounce after a solid win over the Cowboys last weekend. The return of first choice five-eighth Dylan Walker will further boost the Sea Eagles and they look a good bet to edge this one.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">The Chiefs have struggled in Super Rugby Aotearoa, losing all six of their games so far, but things won't get any easier for Warren Gatland's side this weekend as they take on arguably the top side in southern hemisphere rugby.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Although they slipped up against the Highlanders in their latest game, the Crusaders still lead the way at the top of the table, and having lost their long-standing winning home record, they will be keen to bounce back as soon as possible.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Warren Gatland is likely to shuffle the Chiefs' line up again this week, but they are low on confidence and lack the strength in depth of their opponents, so the Crusaders are the bet here.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">I was kicking myself on Wednesday night for not supporting <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Cagliari</strong> at a price to beat Juventus. They duly did, and I suppose that I was surprised that the Sardinians, who've been really poor lately, had even enough for the demotivated Champions.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Roma have more than enough, and while the line will go that Juventus will be much more motivated on Sunday night, and won't want to end the domestic campaign with a defeat, the bare facts are that they are confirmed as Champions, Cristiano Ronaldo isn't going to be Capocannoniere, and they've been outplayed or beaten in all of their last seven games, barring the win over Lazio.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Roma come here on a run of six wins in seven </span><span style="background-color: #fbfbfb;">On balance, though, I thought that Inter looked out on their feet against Napoli on Tuesday night. Finally for this season, <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">I'll turn to an old favourite in Sassuolo</strong>, who thrashed Genoa 5-0 in midweek, and looked great in doing so. That came after they'd been so unfortunate in Naples at the weekend, and they look like they'll be too good for an Udinese team who have confirmed their Serie A place, but who have some improving to do.</div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background-color: #fbfbfb; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I tipped <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Francesco Caputo</strong> at a stupid price to be top scorer this season, and his 21 goals would have been enough in quite a few campaigns, but not this one. Still, he's been remarkable, and so too have the likes of Domenico Berardi and Jeremie Boga. Sassuolo are rarely bad to watch.</div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background-color: #fbfbfb; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Udinese are nothing special, have battled hard to stay up, and will be looking for a rest that they're unlikely to get on Sunday.</div>

<span style="background-color: #fbfbfb;">So that's the final recommendation of the season, and that means that it's time for me to wish you and your families well, to apologise that our numbers are down a little this season, and to remind you that the greatest League in the world will be back in early September. Until then, take care and stay sensible.</span><span style="background-color: white;">, are scoring and playing with fluency, and will be confident of finishing the season with a big scalp. <span style="color: #161616; font-family: inherit;"><span style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(255, 184, 12); border-image: initial; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: initial; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;"><b>They're priced at</b></span></span> <span class="inline-odds" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border-radius: 2px; border: 0px; font: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px 3px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;" title="13/5">3.60</span> to win and that looks a terrific bet.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Juve failed to win any of their final five games last season once they had the title wrapped up, and so they have form in this regard. On the penultimate day of that campaign, Roma beat them 2-0, and in these laboratory conditions, something similar may well be on the cards. Maurizio Sarri even said he could just field the Under-23 team, resting everyone ahead of the Champions League.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">As we stagger towards the end of this remarkable Serie A season, we head to a final weekend on which there's not really a great deal to play for, save a relegation battle featuring Lecce and Genoa, and an argument over which order the top four will be shuffled in.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">The battle for second will be on Saturday between Atalanta and Inter. With teams looking so tired, and rotating so frequently, it's hard to be confident when predicting an outcome. This is a long way from a weekend of certainties.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">On balance, though, I thought that Inter looked out on their feet against Napoli on Tuesday night. They know that defeat here will allow Atalanta to leapfrog them into second, and both teams know that a draw tees it up for Lazio, but <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Atalanta seem to have remarkable reserves of energy</strong>, and I can see them running a team off their feet for one final time in this Serie A season.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Atalanta have won nine of 12 since the resumption, drawing the other three, and only failing when fate conspired against them or their eyes were briefly off the ball. <span style="color: #161616; font-family: inherit;"><span style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(255, 184, 12); border-image: initial; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: initial; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: initial; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: initial; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;"><b>I think they'll have too much for a fading Inter</b></span></span>, who may well be Champions next season, but who could finish this campaign with a plaintive whimper.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Finally for this season, <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">I'll turn to an old favourite in Sassuolo</strong>, who thrashed Genoa 5-0 in midweek, and looked great in doing so. That came after they'd been so unfortunate in Naples at the weekend, and they look like they'll be too good for an Udinese team who have confirmed their Serie A place, but who have some improving to do.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">I tipped <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Francesco Caputo</strong> at a stupid price to be top scorer this season, and his 21 goals would have been enough in quite a few campaigns, but not this one. Still, he's been remarkable, and so too have the likes of Domenico Berardi and Jeremie Boga. Sassuolo are rarely bad to watch.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Udinese are nothing special, have battled hard to stay up, and will be looking for a rest that they're unlikely to get on Sunday.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">So that's the final recommendation of the season, and that means that it's time for me to wish you and your families well, to apologise that our numbers are down a little this season, and to remind you that the greatest League in the world will be back in early September. Until then, take care and stay sensible.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Following two upsets in the semi-finals a fortnight ago, Sunday's FA Cup final is guaranteed to give us a story at the final whistle. One of Frank Lampard or Mikel Arteta, two of the youngest managers ever to reach the final, will lift their first piece of silverware to signify the beginning of <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">a bright new era</strong> at their respective clubs.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">This is the third time this century that Arsenal and Chelsea meet in the FA Cup final, with the Gunners winning the previous two in 2002 and 2017, but <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">more recent history makes Chelsea favourites</strong>: they beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates in December and drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in January.</span></div>

Chelsea are similarly in form with a three-man defence thanks to <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Olivier Giroud</strong>'s re-emergence up top.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">No mirrored formation is more likely to <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">lead to a stalemate</strong> than the 3-4-3, a system primarily designed to slot into the spaces around a more traditional 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and generally ill-equipped to out-think opponents occupying the same zones. The only real width is provided by wing-backs, and on Saturday both sets could cancel each other out, while respective two-man midfields could lead to an absence of line-breaking passing.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Certainly Jorginho/N'Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic are likely to struggle to assert any real dominance in the middle while Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka have slowed down towards the end of the season, and this issue will be exacerbated by the <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">natural caginess</strong> that comes from playing in an FA Cup final on the large Wembley pitch.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Arsenal are generally playing at a <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">low tempo</strong> recently as they continue to absorb Arteta's complex position instructions, while Chelsea's usually erratic style of football - leaving themselves open to counter-attacks because of their carefree positional play - has been tempered by the switch to 3-4-3. The hard tactical work will be done by the inside forwards...</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Christian Pulisic continues to go from strength to strength in a Chelsea shirt and the American is arguably the biggest beneficiary of Lampard's new system. The left winger now has more freedom to play in the half-spaces, <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">wriggling through defences</strong> without being required to hug the touchline and enjoying being able to bounce the ball off Giroud.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">His goal and assist against Liverpool highlighted Trent Alexander-Arnold's defensive flaws and the potential problems in Jurgen Klopp's narrow 4-3-3, which is a warning for Arteta's shaky back three despite the difference in tactical style. Rob Holding will have to cover a lot of space on the right side of defence, particularly on rare occasions Chelsea are able to <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">counter-attack behind Hector Bellerin</strong>.</span></div>

<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

<span style="background-color: white;">Arsenal's most important inside forward is <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Bukayo Saka</strong>, whose intelligent movement between the lines is the club's biggest asset no matter the 19-year-old's starting position. On Saturday, he should begin on the right, a position that sees him drop into right-centre midfield on the blind side of the opposition, providing his team-mates with an unseen out-ball that allows Arsenal to drive forward.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">We have only seen this move in short bursts so far, most notably the 2-0 victory at Wolves, but considering the FA Cup final should be a tense affair with no great movement from either side Saka's positional play could prove decisive. What's more, Chelsea clearly don't have the right balance in midfield, lacking the guile or acceleration to prevent high-quality opposition from <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">passing straight through them</strong> - as Naby Keita showed in the recent 5-3.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Should <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Nicolas Pepe</strong> start ahead of Saka in this position, then Marcus Alonso and Antonio Rudiger should be able to shepherd the Frenchman; Arsenal's inside forwards will sit wider than Chelsea's in this scenario, making it easier for Chelsea's left wing-back to pass Pepe on to Rudiger while he holds Bellerin at arm's length.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">The defining feature of Arsenal's FA Cup semi-final was engaging a high press that stopped Man City from being able to build possession out from the back - and led to two major defensive errors from which the Gunners scored. Chelsea are far more inclined to <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">hit the ball long</strong> when necessary, but Liverpool's five goals at Anfield showed Lampard's back three often make mistakes.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;">Without in-depth positional coaching from the dugout, Chelsea's 3-4-3 continues to look lopsided and improvisational when under pressure. Often Reece James and Alonso are guilty of <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">failing to show</strong> for the ball when Chelsea's centre-backs have possession, which can lead to panicky moments upon which Arsenal's energetic forwards can capitalise.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Their targeted press will look to cut off the passing lanes into Kovacic and Kante while leaving Alonso and James disconnected from play, potentially meaning Chelsea will either lose possession in their own third or be forced to hit the ball long, leading to a <strong style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">stretched formation</strong> that, once again, exposes Kurt Zouma's confusion at the heart of a back three.</span></div>

The pair were both on the scoresheet in Lyon's recent 2-1 friendly win over Celtic, and Lyon their underlined their attacking depth when Karl Toko Ekambi and Bernard Traore netted in Lyon's 3-2 friendly win over Gent on July 22.</span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; font-family: BetFairFlama, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 1.5rem; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="background-color: white;">Despite Lyon's scoring form, however, the chances of high goals in the game generally appear overrated. We saw PSG fall flat after Mbappe left the field last weekend, and Lyon's 3-5-2 is as much designed to contain PSG as to create scoring opportunities. The Daily Acca: PSG to continue their dominance

The Daily Acca: PSG to continue their dominance

There was a 12/1 winner for Paul Robinson yesterday and today he aims to head into the weekend on the back of a 9/2 success. Here are his selections:

Cosenza to maintain their good run

Bet 1: Back Cosenza @ 3/4 - KO 20:00 BST

It is the final day of the Serie B season and Cosenza need to a win to have any chance of avoiding the relegation Play-off. If they lose however, they will be automatically relegated.

That is because the team they face today are directly below them. Juve Stabia are in much the worse form though, as they have lost their last two - and six of their nine since the league resumed.

The hosts meanwhile come into the game on the back of four straight victories, taking their tally to six wins from nine, under post-covid conditions.

PSG to complete the treble

Bet 2: Back PSG 4/9 - KO 20:10 BST

This is the Final of the Coupe de la Ligue, which is the French League Cup, and I can't see how PSG won't win inside of 90 minutes.

Thomas Tuchel's side are looking to win their first domestic treble since the 2017/18 season, and they already have the first two trophies in the cabinet.

They are clearly the better team, although Lyon are no mugs, but PSG also have the advantage of having played competitively in another Cup Final this time last week.

The selection did the double over Lyon in the league, and they also knocked them out of the Coupe de France - with all three games yielding a 10-3 aggregate score.

Los Angeles to bring the goals

Bet 3: Back Over 3.5 Goals in Orlando City v Los Angeles @ 23/20 - KO 00:30 BST (Sat)

This is a Quarter-final MLS tie, where I expect the goals to flow.

Los Angeles have won two and drawn two since the resumption, with all four games seeing this selection land. They have had 3-3 and 2-2 draws, while also winning 6-2 and 4-1.

Orlando City have won three and drawn one, and while only one of those ended with the ball in the net on at least four occasions, their last meeting with LA in September 2019 finished 2-2.

Saturday Sports Multiple: A Pittodrie draw the headline in a 15/1 weekend wager

Saturday Sports Multiple: A Pittodrie draw the headline in a 15/1 weekend wager

Pandora Hughes is back with another weekend multiple and she's banking on Aberdeen to frustrate Rangers in their opening Premiership game.

Bet 1: Back Aberdeen to draw with Rangers at 18/5

The Scottish Premiership returns this weekend and Saturday has thrown up a fascinating clash between two of Scottish football's bitterest rivals.

Steven Gerrard has yet to win a trophy with Rangers and the pressure will be on the Ibrox club to pick up some silverware this season. The prospect of Celtic winning a historic tenth consecutive Premiership title will also weigh heavily on them.

Rangers will be keen to get off to a strong start, but they haven't been given an easy opener. Derek McInnes' side won't win any prizes for their style of play, but they are well organised and hard to break down, and in Sam Cosgrove, have a genuine goal threat. They earned two draws from three encounters with Rangers last season and at the current odds, the draw looks the value bet here.

Bet 2: Back Manly Sea Eagles to beat Penrith Panthers at 6/4

Penrith Panthers continue to lead the way at the top of the NRL but there are signs that they may be running out of steam and Manly can capitalise this weekend.

The injury-hit Panthers won again last week, beating Gold Coast Titans 22-14 but they were far from impressive, and while their defence held firm, they were wasteful with the ball, failing to capitalise on a 57% possession stat.

A repeat of that performance could see them struggle against an improving Manly side bidding for a third win on the bounce after a solid win over the Cowboys last weekend. The return of first choice five-eighth Dylan Walker will further boost the Sea Eagles and they look a good bet to edge this one.

Bet 3: Back Crusaders to beat Chiefs at 2/5

The Chiefs have struggled in Super Rugby Aotearoa, losing all six of their games so far, but things won't get any easier for Warren Gatland's side this weekend as they take on arguably the top side in southern hemisphere rugby.

Although they slipped up against the Highlanders in their latest game, the Crusaders still lead the way at the top of the table, and having lost their long-standing winning home record, they will be keen to bounce back as soon as possible.

Warren Gatland is likely to shuffle the Chiefs' line up again this week, but they are low on confidence and lack the strength in depth of their opponents, so the Crusaders are the bet here.

Dave Farrar predicts the Scudetto winners will put their feet up and suffer their first home defeat of the season, La Dea to take silver and a final Sassuolo flourish...

Juve already clocked out

Juventus v Roma

I was kicking myself on Wednesday night for not supporting Cagliari at a price to beat Juventus. They duly did, and I suppose that I was surprised that the Sardinians, who've been really poor lately, had even enough for the demotivated Champions.

Roma have more than enough, and while the line will go that Juventus will be much more motivated on Sunday night, and won't want to end the domestic campaign with a defeat, the bare facts are that they are confirmed as Champions, Cristiano Ronaldo isn't going to be Capocannoniere, and they've been outplayed or beaten in all of their last seven games, barring the win over Lazio.

Roma come here on a run of six wins in seven On balance, though, I thought that Inter looked out on their feet against Napoli on Tuesday night. They know that defeat here will allow Atalanta to leapfrog them into second, and both teams know that a draw tees it up for Lazio, but Atalanta seem to have remarkable reserves of energy, and I can see them running a team off their feet for one final time in this Serie A season.

Atalanta have won nine of 12 since the resumption, drawing the other three, and only failing when fate conspired against them or their eyes were briefly off the ball. I think they'll have too much for a fading Inter, who may well be Champions next season, but who could finish this campaign with a plaintive whimper.

Caputo closes on a high

Sassuolo v Udinese

Finally for this season, I'll turn to an old favourite in Sassuolo, who thrashed Genoa 5-0 in midweek, and looked great in doing so. That came after they'd been so unfortunate in Naples at the weekend, and they look like they'll be too good for an Udinese team who have confirmed their Serie A place, but who have some improving to do.

I tipped Francesco Caputo at a stupid price to be top scorer this season, and his 21 goals would have been enough in quite a few campaigns, but not this one. Still, he's been remarkable, and so too have the likes of Domenico Berardi and Jeremie Boga. Sassuolo are rarely bad to watch.

They're trading at 2.20 to finish with a flourish and I'm surprised to see them odds against. Udinese are nothing special, have battled hard to stay up, and will be looking for a rest that they're unlikely to get on Sunday.

So that's the final recommendation of the season, and that means that it's time for me to wish you and your families well, to apologise that our numbers are down a little this season, and to remind you that the greatest League in the world will be back in early September. Until then, take care and stay sensible., are scoring and playing with fluency, and will be confident of finishing the season with a big scalp. They're priced at 3.60 to win and that looks a terrific bet.

Juve failed to win any of their final five games last season once they had the title wrapped up, and so they have form in this regard. On the penultimate day of that campaign, Roma beat them 2-0, and in these laboratory conditions, something similar may well be on the cards. Maurizio Sarri even said he could just field the Under-23 team, resting everyone ahead of the Champions League.

Historic second for Atalanta

Atalanta v Inter

As we stagger towards the end of this remarkable Serie A season, we head to a final weekend on which there's not really a great deal to play for, save a relegation battle featuring Lecce and Genoa, and an argument over which order the top four will be shuffled in.

Of course, fourth place may yet not get you a Champions League place in Italy, but that eventuality would require Napoli to win this season's UCL and Roma the Europa League, so whoever finishes fourth should be safe.

The battle for second will be on Saturday between Atalanta and Inter. With teams looking so tired, and rotating so frequently, it's hard to be confident when predicting an outcome. My advice would be that normal rules really don't apply, so keep stakes as sensible as they should always be. This is a long way from a weekend of certainties.

On balance, though, I thought that Inter looked out on their feet against Napoli on Tuesday night. FA Cup Final Tips: Saka & Pulisic the key players at Wembley

FA Cup Final Tips: Saka & Pulisic the key players at Wembley

Alex Keble picks out four key battles ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley, predicting a tight game to be decided by either Christian Pulisic or Bukayo Saka...

Following two upsets in the semi-finals a fortnight ago, Sunday's FA Cup final is guaranteed to give us a story at the final whistle. One of Frank Lampard or Mikel Arteta, two of the youngest managers ever to reach the final, will lift their first piece of silverware to signify the beginning of a bright new era at their respective clubs.

This is the third time this century that Arsenal and Chelsea meet in the FA Cup final, with the Gunners winning the previous two in 2002 and 2017, but more recent history makes Chelsea favourites: they beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates in December and drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in January.

Since their last encounter, both sides have improved. Arsenal are gradually learning Arteta's tactical methods and have found some consistency in a 3-4-3, winning seven of their last ten games in all competitions. Chelsea are similarly in form with a three-man defence thanks to Olivier Giroud's re-emergence up top.

Chelsea are 13/20 to lift the trophy while Arsenal are 5/4. It will be a closer contest than the odds suggest.

3-4-3 v 3-4-3 to create tight game

No mirrored formation is more likely to lead to a stalemate than the 3-4-3, a system primarily designed to slot into the spaces around a more traditional 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and generally ill-equipped to out-think opponents occupying the same zones. The only real width is provided by wing-backs, and on Saturday both sets could cancel each other out, while respective two-man midfields could lead to an absence of line-breaking passing.

Certainly Jorginho/N'Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic are likely to struggle to assert any real dominance in the middle while Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka have slowed down towards the end of the season, and this issue will be exacerbated by the natural caginess that comes from playing in an FA Cup final on the large Wembley pitch.

Arsenal are generally playing at a low tempo recently as they continue to absorb Arteta's complex position instructions, while Chelsea's usually erratic style of football - leaving themselves open to counter-attacks because of their carefree positional play - has been tempered by the switch to 3-4-3. The hard tactical work will be done by the inside forwards...

Christian Pulisic continues to go from strength to strength in a Chelsea shirt and the American is arguably the biggest beneficiary of Lampard's new system. The left winger now has more freedom to play in the half-spaces, wriggling through defences without being required to hug the touchline and enjoying being able to bounce the ball off Giroud.

His goal and assist against Liverpool highlighted Trent Alexander-Arnold's defensive flaws and the potential problems in Jurgen Klopp's narrow 4-3-3, which is a warning for Arteta's shaky back three despite the difference in tactical style. Rob Holding will have to cover a lot of space on the right side of defence, particularly on rare occasions Chelsea are able to counter-attack behind Hector Bellerin.

Holding is a solid defender but he isn't the most agile, lacking the experience of a right-back when isolated one-on-one against a tricky player like Pulisic, who averages 2.2 successful dribbles per match.

Saka the key against vulnerable Chelsea midfield

Arsenal's most important inside forward is Bukayo Saka, whose intelligent movement between the lines is the club's biggest asset no matter the 19-year-old's starting position. On Saturday, he should begin on the right, a position that sees him drop into right-centre midfield on the blind side of the opposition, providing his team-mates with an unseen out-ball that allows Arsenal to drive forward.

We have only seen this move in short bursts so far, most notably the 2-0 victory at Wolves, but considering the FA Cup final should be a tense affair with no great movement from either side Saka's positional play could prove decisive. What's more, Chelsea clearly don't have the right balance in midfield, lacking the guile or acceleration to prevent high-quality opposition from passing straight through them - as Naby Keita showed in the recent 5-3.

Should Nicolas Pepe start ahead of Saka in this position, then Marcus Alonso and Antonio Rudiger should be able to shepherd the Frenchman; Arsenal's inside forwards will sit wider than Chelsea's in this scenario, making it easier for Chelsea's left wing-back to pass Pepe on to Rudiger while he holds Bellerin at arm's length.

Arsenal's press can hurt Chelsea's back three

The defining feature of Arsenal's FA Cup semi-final was engaging a high press that stopped Man City from being able to build possession out from the back - and led to two major defensive errors from which the Gunners scored. Chelsea are far more inclined to hit the ball long when necessary, but Liverpool's five goals at Anfield showed Lampard's back three often make mistakes.

Without in-depth positional coaching from the dugout, Chelsea's 3-4-3 continues to look lopsided and improvisational when under pressure. Often Reece James and Alonso are guilty of failing to show for the ball when Chelsea's centre-backs have possession, which can lead to panicky moments upon which Arsenal's energetic forwards can capitalise.

Their targeted press will look to cut off the passing lanes into Kovacic and Kante while leaving Alonso and James disconnected from play, potentially meaning Chelsea will either lose possession in their own third or be forced to hit the ball long, leading to a stretched formation that, once again, exposes Kurt Zouma's confusion at the heart of a back three.

French League Cup Final Tips: PSG set to labour without star man Mbappe

French League Cup Final Tips: PSG set to labour without star man Mbappe

Thomas Tuchel's side are not the same without their 21-year-old World Cup winner so the door's open for Lyon to exceed market expectations, writes James Eastham...

Absence of Mbappe the key factor

PSG collected another piece of silverware when they won the French Cup last weekend but their laboured 1-0 victory over St Etienne will mainly be remembered for the brutally ill-timed tackle by St Etienne skipper Loic Perrin on Kylian Mbappe that left the France international close to tears and PSG's Champions League hopes potentially in tatters.

Mbappe has been told it will take three weeks for his ankle to heal so it's touch and go whether he will play any part in Paris' Champions League quarter-final against Atalanta in Lisbon on August 12. PSG are 2.40 to see of the Serie A side in 90 minutes and 6.80 tournament third favourites behind Manchester City and Bayern Munich but the odds on a PSG triumph are decidedly less attractive now that Mbappe's participation is in the balance (read our in-depth guide to their Champions League chances here).

The more immediate impact of Mbappe's absence is that PSG are less likely to have things their own way against Lyon in the League Cup final this weekend. Paris remain favourites and it would be a surprise if Thomas Tuchel's side failed to win in 90 minutes but anyone watching the narrow victory over St Etienne would have noticed how sluggish PSG's build-up play was after Mbappe left the field.

Opposing PSG holds appeal

Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi can be lethal, of course, but PSG move more predictably through the lines without the turn of speed that Mbappe provides to PSG to break through opposing defences. From the moment against St Etienne that he left the field shortly after the half-hour mark PSG were more ponderous in the final third and were ultimately unable to add to the early Neymar goal (14 minutes) that had been fashioned by - yes, you guessed it - a trademark Mbappe burst of pace.

The 1.50 price on a PSG win this weekend holds little appeal and there may even be some value in opposing them on the Asian Handicap. When the market has liquidity Paris will be available at odds around 2.10 with a -1.0&-1.5 start and after their travails against St Etienne there must be a question mark against their chances of winning by two or more goals (for a full guide to Asian Handicap betting, click here).

Depay and Dembele the duo to watch

Lyon go into the game with better team news. In goal no.2 Ciprian Tatarusanu will start although the difference in class between him and no.1 Anthony Lopes is relatively small. The only other notable absentee is Youssouf Kone (injured) although there's some debate as to whether he's a first-choice player as Maxwel Cornet is now a viable option in the left wing-back role.

Lyon manager Rudi Garcia looks set to use a 3-5-2 formation. Bruno Guimaraes and France U21 international Houssem Aouar are the midfielders to watch, while Memphis Depay (pictured above) playing off Moussa Dembele is a potentially lethal attacking partnership. The pair were both on the scoresheet in Lyon's recent 2-1 friendly win over Celtic, and Lyon their underlined their attacking depth when Karl Toko Ekambi and Bernard Traore netted in Lyon's 3-2 friendly win over Gent on July 22.

Despite Lyon's scoring form, however, the chances of high goals in the game generally appear overrated. We saw PSG fall flat after Mbappe left the field last weekend, and Lyon's 3-5-2 is as much designed to contain PSG as to create scoring opportunities. At 1.55 a lay of Over 2.5 Goals could create good in-play trading opportunities, with a lay of Over 3.5 Goals at 2.20 an alternative.
