Carlisle clash with Toffees

The FA Cup fourth round action continues into Sunday as League Two side Carlisle United welcome Roberto Martinez’s Everton to Brunton Park, with the hosts having lost all three previous Toffees meetings in this competition.
The Cumbrians were on the losing end of a 3-1 FA Cup encounter with their Merseyside opponents most-recently in 2010, with Leighton Baines having been amongst the goals, while Keith Curle’s current crop are without a win in five matches across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Everton arrive in similarly underwhelming form, having been without a victory for four outings on all fronts but are 7/4 with Coral to earn an away win without conceding to their fourth tier opposition.

Toffees target better luck in FA Cup

Martinez’s men recently exited the Capital One Cup at the semi-final stage, suffering an agonising loss to Manchester City, and club captain Phil Jagielka is aiming to earn success in this competition to banish their earlier heartache.
“We have another cup game at the weekend and so we have got to try and put some sort of run together to give them something to get their teeth into for the remainder of the season,” stated the England international, whose side are 5/1 for a shock defeat at the hands of Carlisle.
“It is important that we get our heads up. The role of all of the senior people around the dressing room is to get everyone back up, it’s another decent distance for them to go. I wouldn’t say the FA Cup can save the season but it can make the season.
“Things aren’t going so well in the league so a good run in the FA Cup can make things a lot happier, similar to what the League Cup has done but there is only one way to do and it’s going to Carlisle and getting a good result.”

Lukaku leading Toffees hitman

The visitors have not won any silverware since lifting the FA Cup back in 1995, and will see this season as a great opportunity to end that hapless run, but they have struggled for domestic consistency, currently sitting in 12th position after 23 outings.
Belgian targetman Romelu Lukaku has been pivotal to any success the Toffees have enjoyed though and he is 3/1 to bag a brace or more this time out, while Ross Barkley is 15/8 to get on the scoresheet anytime.
For the hosts, Jabo Ibehre is their leading league marksman, making him 2/1 to strike anytime, while fellow attacker Derek Asamoah is available at the same odds for a goal of his own.

Chelsea look to down Dons

After enjoying a domestic revival under temporary coach Guus Hiddink, Premier League champions Chelsea make the trip to face MK Dons in their FA Cup fourth round meeting and will look to add to their recent triumph over Arsenal.
The Blues are now unbeaten in their last eight games across all competitions under their Dutch coach, including a comfortable 2-0 third round victory over Scunthorpe United, and the visitors are 6/4 to dispatch three or more goals on their travels.
Karl Robinson’s MK Dons have struggled this term in the Championship, as they currently sit down in 20th, narrowly above the relegation zone, but the hosts are 8/1 to stun their top-flight opponents.

Costa can continue rampant revival

Since the departure of Jose Mourinho, Spain international frontman Diego Costa has flourished and is 5/2 to open proceedings this time out, after netting six goals in as many games since Boxing Day.
Cesc Fabregas dispatched his first goal since September against Everton recently and the former Barcelona playmaker is 11/4 to bag another anytime. Meanwhile, Dons midfielder Josh Murphy is 4/1 to strike on home soil, after netting in his last two outings.
