GWS v West CoastSaturday February 18, 2:05pm

GWS will be looking to erase memories of their last outing in 2016 when they were defeated at home by the Bulldogs in the preliminary final. The Eagles on the other hand are making the first of many trips to the east this season and will simply be happy to get through this one unscathed.

What To Expect
On paper this game resembles more of a state league trial match with both sides playing it very conservatively at the selection table. The Wolf is excited to see what type of condition Lewis Jetta and Jack Redden turn up in for the Eagles. Both players were high profile recruits for the Eagles and have been extremely disappointing so far. Jeremy Cameron and Jonathon Patton spearhead a young, yet talented squad for GWS. With the Eagles leaving so many experienced players at home, the Wolf can see the Giants running over the Eagles in this one.
Rising Star Watch
Rising Star favourite Jacob Hopper ($8) is missing from this clash as he is recovering from pre-season heart surgery. Reports from the track suggest Tim Taranto ($17) is leading fellow early round pick Will Setterfield ($21) for a round 1 position. The Eagles have named the son of former club champion Chris Waterman, Jake Waterman ($34) to make his club debut. Waterman was selected with selection 77 in the 2016 draft.
