Greece v Gibraltar

It was more like Croatian sensation than stagnation last night, as Luka Modric and company swept to a highly impressive 2-0 win in Ukraine which booked them a playoff spot. Not the result we wanted, but sometimes you just have to doff your cap.
We're off to Greece now, because there are still playoff places to wrap up. Greece know that a win against Gibraltar will be enough to book a place in the next phase, and Michael Skibbe's side will be confident, not least because Gibraltar have lost all of their matches.
Gibraltar are of course taking their first faltering steps on the international stage, and they have leaked 43 goals in nine qualifiers, scoring just three times. In their last outing, they were thrashed 6-0 at home by Estonia, who had drawn a blank in three of their previous four qualifiers.
That leads me to think that amidst a party atmosphere in Athens, Gibraltar are in for another pasting. Greece aren't exactly a swashbuckling outfit, but they put four goals past Gibraltar in the reverse fixture, and they have the perfect motivation as they look to book a playoff spot and build confidence ahead of such a tie. If Gibraltar can ship six goals against Estonia, the same can certainly happen in Greece.
