Kyrgios has gone and done it again! The Wolf says we will take the refund on our bet and move on. Outside of that the other feature previews went 3-0 with Anderson, Del Potro and Gasquet all delivering. Today things will go to another level with Federer, Nadal and Alexander Zverev on centre court in back to back matches.
Feature Previews
Sam Querrey v Frances TiafoeQuerrey returned to the winner’s circle with a comfortable win over Sugita while Tiafoe continue to look very dangerous. The teenager looked great in qualifying and continued with his fine form in a straight sets win over Paire. He will more than hold his own against Querrey. Movement is not one of Querrey’s assets and it means that Tiafoe will not need to go for the lines as often. If the youngster can be patient in the rallies and pick his spots he can spring an upset.
Best Bet: Tiafoe +2.5 ($2.05)
Stefanos Tsitsipas v John IsnerThe Wolf said we could see Isner get rolled yesterday and he almost did. After losing the opening set to Lajovic he won back to back breakers to squeeze out the win. Things will be just as tight today against Tsitsipas. A former junior world number 1, Tsitsipas has a big game and just like Isner is a dominant player on server. In his three matches this week (qualification included) he has won in excess of 85% of 1st serve points. That number could be even bigger against the American who rarely wins more than 20% of 1st serve return points. We will be backing the youngster with the start!
Best Bet: Tsitsipas +2.5 ($1.85)
Rafael Nadal v Jared DonaldsonNadal extended his win streak to 12 and there really is no stopping him. We saw him make a very slow start last week against Pouille but The Wolf is expecting him to come right out of the blocks this week. He had mire than a month off leading into Beijing but with this his second tournament in as many weeks he will hit the ground running. Rafa has historically played better with more matches under his belt and Donaldson is about to feel the full force.
Best Bet: Under 20.5 games ($1.73)
Diego Schwartzman v Roger FedererFederer will take the court for the first time since his loss to Del Potro in the US Open quarter finals. He looked to be carrying injury throughout the tournament but looked fine at the Rod Laver Cup exhibition. Historically the 19 time Grand Slam champion has run the table in the closing months of the season. The fast conditions, especially indoors, are perfect for his game. Schwartzman is a very tough opponent to take on first up after a lengthy lay-off but we should see Federer play himself into form. He will hit a stack of balls in this match and that is great news for the veteran. Roger has won all three of their prior meetings and will bw maintaining his perfect record.
Best Bet: Federer -4.5 ($1.80)
