Leipzig to maintain their momentum

It was an LA story that didn't have a happy ending for Tobias overnight, as Galaxy lost 2-0 at home to Sporting Kansas, leaving him a goal short. There are worse places to lick one's wounds, though.
We'll leave TG drinking in LA, and head to Germany. It's the latest edition of the deeply unpopular Monday Night Football experiment, but at least the game's a doozy, as Champions League qualification rivals RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen go head to head.
Leipzig are looking to qualify for European football's VIP club for the second season running, and they still have a chance of winning a major trophy in their first ever continental campaign. A 1-0 first-leg win over Marseille has given Die Roten Bullen every chance of reaching the Europa League semi-finals. Leipzig have won their last three matches, including a highly impressive 2-1 comeback success at home to Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen are trying to return to the Champions League after missing out on European football altogether this term, and that ability to focus entirely on domestic matters has served Heiko Herrlich well in his first season as coach. However, there have been one or two recent signs that the pressure is getting to a young squad. A 2-0 derby defeat at struggling Koln was bad enough, but then Bayer were held to a goalless draw at home by injury-hit Augsburg.
If you look at Bayer's games against the teams currently in the top four, it doesn't make for great reading. They took a point from their two games against Schalke, they lost home and away to Bayern, and they were held at home by both Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
Leipzig are hitting form at the right time, and even though they have a huge game in Marseille on Thursday, I expect them to field a strong team for a game that is critical in the race for the top four. Bayer are wobbling a bit, so I'll back the hosts to win.
