Bayern end winless run

Bayern got back to winning ways over the weekend with a 3-1 away win at Wolfsburg. It ended a four match run without a victory (D2 L2), that had prompted speculation regarding the future of their manager Niko Kovac.
The Croatian was only appointed in the summer, but Bayern are a club unused to such runs. Their winless streak included their Champions League home match against Ajax, with the Dutch club leaving the Allianz Arena with a 1-1 draw.
Ajax now lead Group E on goal difference from Bayern. Benfica are only a point behind in third place, with AEK Athens rock bottom, having lost both of their games.
The Greeks had a chance of getting a positive result in their last Champions League outing at home to Benfica. With Benfica's Ruben Diaz sent off just before half-time, AEK fought back from two goals down to 2-2, only on concede again. Both of AEK's Champions League games have been followed by them dropping points in the Greek Super League, where they are currently six points behind the leaders PAOK.

Back Bayern to take another early lead

Benfica were cruising to victory at AEK Athens, before a sending off allowed the hosts to get back into the game.
Before going down to ten men, they were 2-0 up and there was little to suggest that any sort of fightback was forthcoming. With Bayern having scored within the first ten minutes of both of their Champions League games this season, it would be no surprise if the Germans had this sewn up by half-time.
With Bayern a short price to claim victory, the 1.75 on offer for them to win half-time/full-time, represents decent value.
