2020 NRL Round 13 – Preview, Expert Betting Tips & Odds

We have expert betting tips for all NRL Round 13 games this week, which kicks off with the Dragons vs. Roosters on Thursday night.

There are some big games on this week, namely the Panthers vs. Raiders and Sharks vs. Eels blockbusters this weekend.

We look at all eight games in the NRL this week.

Thursday 6/8/20

7:50pm St George Dragons vs. Sydney Roosters @ WIN Stadium

The Dragons couldn’t get the job done against the Rabbitohs last week and they’re now slipping down the NRL ladder.

The 32-24 loss gives them another setback and they now face the Roosters, who are coming off a narrow 18-12 win over the Titans.

It hasn’t all gone to plan for the Roosters of late but they will be confident of notching another win to the record on Thursday night.

Betting tip: Dragons +12.5 @ $1.90

Friday 7/8/20

6:00pm Manly Sea Eagles vs. New Zealand Warriors @ Lottoland

Manly were on the other end of a thrashing at the hands of the Penrith Panthers last week. It was a loss that won’t do their confidence any good heading into the mid-stages of the season.

However, confidence did return for the Warriors, who scored an upset win over the Wests Tigers. Despite losing three quality players, the Warriors dug deep to score the six-point win.

Bookmakers have the Sea Eagles as 12.5-point favourites and that leans us to favour the visiting side.

7:55pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. Brisbane Broncos @ ANZ Stadium

The Rabbitohs moved into a playoff-bearing position with a win over the Dragons last week. Momentum is big for this side and they’ll look to continue it against the struggling Broncos.

Brisbane notched up another loss to the Cronulla Sharks last week and despite leading in the second half, they gave up three late tries.

The season continues to go from bad to worse for the Broncos and the Rabbitohs should have no problem adding to their pain.

Saturday 8/8/20

3:00pm Melbourne Storm vs. Canterbury Bulldogs @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

Despite sitting in last position on the NRL ladder, we have been impressed by the heart shown by the Canterbury Bulldogs.

They continue to fight and they only narrowly went down against the Eels last week. More fight will be needed to compete with the Melbourne Storm this week, however.

The Storm will be without captain Cameron Smith but they should score a comfortable win and stay in the top two on the ladder.

Betting tip: Storm –14.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm Newcastle Knights vs. Wests Tigers @ McDonald Jones Stadium

Both the Knights and Tigers desperately need to get some momentum going this season. The Knights are coming off another loss and the Tigers couldn’t get the job done over the Warriors.

Newcastle looked good to start the season but life has been tough since play resumed. They haven’t clicked into full gear but facing the Tigers could help.

Wests needed to beat the Warriors because their upcoming schedule is so tough. Nothing short of a win this week is needed, otherwise, they could fall out of playoff contention yet again.

7:35pm Penrith Panthers vs. Canberra Raiders @ Panthers Stadium

Two top teams do battle as the premiership-leading Penrith Panthers take on last year’s finalists.

Penrith has been the team to beat so far this season and they showed why when playing the Manly Sea Eagles last week.

The 42-12 win was a thrashing and the Canberra Raiders should be fearful of what awaits them at Panthers Stadium on Saturday night.

Canberra is coming off tough win over the Cowboys but we are giving the edge to the Panthers, who seemingly have no weaknesses.

Sunday 9/8/20

2:00pm Gold Coast Titans vs. North Queensland Cowboys @ Cbus Super Stadium

Despite being lowly-placed on the NRL ladder, both the Titans and Cowboys have been playing with good effort of late.

The Titans pushed the Roosters to within a try last week and the Cowboys went within two points of beating the Raiders. Unfortunately, both teams recorded a loss despite the tough play.

However, one team will come away from this game with a victory. We are giving a slight edge to the Cowboys, who have the better team on paper.

Bookmakers will likely firm the odds for the Cowboys throughout the week.

4:05pm Cronulla Sharks vs. Parramatta Eels @ Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

The Sharks have been scoring points for fun this season and they could provide the Eels with something to think about.

Parramatta continues to score victories but they haven’t been overly convincing in recent weeks. Cronulla has looked slightly better and they are the team paying $3.10 to win this game.

We will happily take the points for the Sharks, as it should be a close game to close out Round 13 of the NRL.
