 Transfers Latest: Sancho still odds-on to join Manchester United

Jadon Sancho is odds on to join Manchester United in the current transfer window even though Dortmund have said he'll remain with them for the 2020/21 season.

The Red Devils have been monitoring Sancho for months and have reportedly agreed terms with the player. But Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said on Monday that the player would stay with them for another season.

That's had little impact on the odds - and it must be said Zorc is known to use such statements as a way of driving up the price - and Sancho is 4/9 to go to United in this window.

The 20-year-old was named in Dortmund boss Lucien Favre's squad for this week's training camp in Switzerland. The club are believed to want around £100m for him, while United would prefer to pay a little less and make a portion of the fee dependent on performance.

If he doesn't make the move to Old Trafford then it's likely that other clubs would bid to bring Sancho back to the Premier League which he left in 2017 after failing to break into the Manchester City team.

Chelsea could be interested but the 14/1 available on them taking him to Stamford Bridge indicates it's unlikely.

Their priority is believed to be Kai Havertz, the Bayer Leverkusen forward who enjoyed an excellent season in the Bundesliga. He's 1/20 to join the Blues in this window while Liverpool are 20/1 to get him and United 40/1.

United and Chelsea finished third and fourth respectively in the Premier League and are generally considered the most likely to challenge champions Liverpool and title favourites Man City next term.
