2020 NRL Round 20 – Tips, Predictions & Odds

We have expert betting tips for all NRL Round 20 games this week, which kicks off with the Broncos vs. Cowboys on Thursday night.

It’s the final week of the NRL regular season and playoff positioning is still up for grabs. It should be an interesting week, as we look at the best betting opportunities for punters.

Thursday 24/9/20

7:50pm Brisbane Broncos vs. North Queensland Cowboys @ Suncorp Stadium

The Broncos are looking to avoid an unlikely wooden spoon this season, and a loss to the Cowboys would seal it.

It has been a disastrous season for both the Broncos and Cowboys, with neither team able to find any positives.

It won’t be a pretty game, but we are going with the Broncos to end their season with a rare victory.

Betting tip: Broncos to win @ $1.95

Friday 25/9/20

6:00pm Gold Coast Titans vs. Newcastle Knights @ Cbus Super Stadium

The Newcastle Knights are starting to build up momentum before the playoffs, and a win over Gold Coast would do them nicely.

Coming off a 42-18 thrashing of the St George Dragons, Newcastle has a full head of steam, but so do the Titans.

Gold Coast ran over Manly 42-24 on Saturday, so we should expect a closely-fought game on Friday night.

Betting tip: Knights to win @ $1.54

7:55pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. Sydney Roosters @ ANZ Stadium

The Rabbitohs suffered an embarrassing loss to the Canterbury Bulldogs last week and it won’t provide them with much confidence.

They have been hit with injuries, but they don’t look like the Rabbitohs of a few weeks back. Looking to add to their pain are the Roosters, who are in fine form.

Bookmakers have 11.5 points between the two teams and that is a fair assessment. We are expecting the Roosters to put up another big number as the playoffs approach.

Betting tip: Roosters –11.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 26/9/20

3:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs. Penrith Panthers @ ANZ Stadium

The Bulldogs made the race for the wooden spoon interesting with their win over the Rabbitohs last week.

They scored a huge upset victory over a top-eight side, but we wouldn’t be backing them to beat the Penrith Panthers on Saturday.

Penrith are the best team in the NRL this season and they should have no problems covering the spread this week. It is currently set at 18.5, which could be covered by halftime.

Betting tip: Panthers –18.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm Cronulla Sharks vs. Canberra Raiders @ Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

The chances of the Sharks took a hit last week with the injury of Shaun Johnson. The Kiwi playmaker will miss the rest of the season, which spell an end to the Sharks’ season.

Looking to pile on the hurt are the Canberra Raiders, who got a little lucky against the Warriors, but they made their own luck.

The Raiders relied on turnovers and intercepts to get the better of their rivals, but it was a confidence-building performance.

With a healthy team at their disposal, we are going with the Raiders.

Betting tip: Raiders –11.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Wests Tigers vs. Parramatta Eels @ Bankwest Stadium

Another one-sided game could be on the cards this week as the Tigers face the Eels on Saturday night.

The Tigers are coming off a big loss to the Melbourne Storm (50-22) and there wasn’t much to get excited about.

Parramatta did enough to beat the Brisbane Broncos by 14 points, but they will be looking to iron out any creases in their offense this week.

The Eels have too much for the Tigers, who have unraveled over the last few weeks.

Betting tip: Eels –10.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 27/9/20

3:00pm New Zealand Warriors vs. Manly Sea Eagles @ Central Coast Stadium

The Warriors and Manly won’t make the playoffs, but New Zealand has had the better season by far.

They have gone down fighting and although they will be without inspirational captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck this week, they could score the win.

Manly lost their best player last week as well, with Tommy Turbo doing a shoulder injury, so the value is with the Warriors.

Betting tip: Warriors to win @ $2.60

Warriors by 10

5:05pm St George Dragons vs. Melbourne Storm @ Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

The St George Dragons are coming off another dismal performance and the Melbourne Storm will be too good for them.

Melbourne is rolling this season and they won’t be letting up one bit on the Dragons. They will be out to score an impressive win on Sunday, and they shouldn’t be troubled.

Bookmakers have 17.5 points between them and that is a fair line.

Betting tip: Storm –17.5 @ $1.90
