2020 Brownlow Medal – Tips, Predictions & Odds

It’s almost time to award the 2020 AFL Brownlow Medal, where the best players in the game get celebrated.

Lachie Neale looks to have the Brownlow Medal all sown up, but punters have plenty of value betting options throughout the night.

We look at the best Brownlow Medal predictions, which includes our top picks and the best exotic betting options.

2020 Brownlow Medal Tips

2020 Brownlow Medal Best Bet – Christian Petracca @ $3.50

We have labeled Christian Petracca as our best bet for the Brownlow Medal, but we recommend backing him outside of the main market.

Sportsbet is offering a “Without Neale Winner” and that is where we suggest taking Petracca to win. He is paying $3.50 to finish highest without Lachie Neale in the market, which is excellent value.

The Melbourne midfielder is an $8 chance to win the Brownlow Medal and that’s not without a chance. However, Neale almost has the medal around his neck, so there are better value options for punters.

Petracca should have polled well over the final few rounds, and the former AFL Rising Star nominee has improved steadily throughout his career.

He is coming off a 15-goal performance and he made the All-Australian team this year. He should give punters a good sight and the $3.50 without Neale is a good bet.

2020 Brownlow Medal Next Best – Jack Steele @ $13

What a season Jack Steele had for the St Kilda Saints. The midfielder won the Trevor Barker Award for Best and Fairest at the St Kilda club, and it wasn’t even a close race.

Steele was their best player this season and given the Saints made a run into the playoffs, it adds credibility to his leadership.

The Brownlow Medal predictor has Steele 11 points behind Neale, so he will be tough to catch. However, Steele is paying $5.50 in the market without Neale, so that’s where the value is.

2020 Brownlow Medal Best Value – Neale to poll more votes than Adelaide @ $1.80

Punters are getting good odds for Lachie Neale to poll more votes than the entire Adelaide Crows team.

It was only a few weeks from the end of the season when Adelaide won their first game, so Neale won’t have much to beat.

The Brisbane Lions star is expected to gain around 25 votes, and we can’t see the Adelaide team getting more votes combined.

Rory Laird and Rory Sloane are the two leading hopes for Adelaide and they are $501 to win the Brownlow Medal. Therefore, we are comfortable taking this option and $1.80 is a fair price from bookmakers.

2020 Brownlow Medal Exact Trifecta – Neale/Petracca/Boak @ $8.50

It isn’t easy to pick the exact order of the Top 3, but there is excellent value with this betting option.

Lachie Neale all but has it won, so he’s an easy pick on top. The hardest aspect of this bet is correctly predicting the finishing order between Christian Petracca and Travis Boak.

Boak is ahead on the predictions, but we think he will get nabbed by Petrecca late in the counting. Therefore, we are locking in the Neale/Petracca/Boak trifecta, which pays a handsome $8.50 with Sportsbet.

Alternatively, you can box these three players up for a return of $3.50. The second favourite is Neale, Boak and Steele, which is currently paying $6.

2020 Brownlow Medal Top 3 Finish – Travis Boak @ $1.80

We believe Christian Petracca is a solid chance at $2, but we’re going with a touch of value with Travis Boak.

He should be ahead of Petracca heading into the late rounds, and he should do enough to hold on to a Top 3 position. Jack Steele and Dusty Martin will make their runs, but Boak should have enough points stored up to finish on the podium.

There is enough value with bookmakers to make this option worthwhile for punters.

Most votes last 8 rounds – Christian Petracca @ $2.75

Our man Christian Petracca finished strongly and we are not surprised to see him head this list.

He is the $2.75 favourite and he’s dominating the rest of the field, which is followed by Jack Steele ($6), Lachie Neale ($8), and Nat Fyfe ($10.

Petracca is tough to look past given the way he finished the season and punters are again getting great value backing in the Melbourne Demon.
