Turkey v Montenegro delivered with room to spare last night, as our Over 2.5 Goals bet landed inside the first 40 minutes. We hope for similar success in Vaduz tonight, as the Hansi Flick era gets underway with Germany visiting Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier.

Flick was Joachim Löw's assistant when Germany lifted the World Cup trophy in Brazil in 2014, and he won pretty much everything there was to win during his spell as coach of Bayern Munich. Flick secured the Champions League, Bundesliga, DFB Cup, DFL Supercup and Club World Cup, and only really ended his time in Bavaria because of a breakdown in his relationship with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Germany had a disappointing European Championship, as they tumbled out against England in the last 16. While the long-serving Löw's spell in charge arguably went on for one or two more major tournaments than it should have, there is now genuine excitement about what Flick can do. Key players like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer all thrived under Flick at Bayern, and will be key players again at the World Cup.

Flick has some work to do after Germany's embarrassing defeat to North Macedonia in March, but even without the injured Neuer and Müller, there should be no problems against Liechtenstein. In the June friendlies they lost 7-0 to Switzerland and 5-1 to the Faroe Islands, and they have lost all three of their World Cup qualifiers by an aggregate score of 10-1. Since the start of 2020, the only teams they've avoided defeats against in competitive games have been San Marino and Gibraltar.

Flick will demand an attacking performance with intense pressing and a high defensive line, and I think we'll see plenty of goals here. If we use the Goal Lines market, we can back Over 5.5 and Over 6.0 Goals at 2.16. If there are six goals, we get a half-win, but a bigger goal tally gives us an odds-against success.
