Serie A Tips: Back Juventus to win and Salernitana to surprise

Serie A returns with an exciting round of action and Chloe Beresford is back with three tips for the pick of the matches in Italy's top flight.

Goals galore in Naples

Napoli v Sassuolo
Saturday April 30, 14:00

A stunning loss to Empoli last week has left Napoli trailing behind the top two and out to 20.0 in the title betting, and allowed fourth-placed Juve to close the gap to them. As Napoli prepare to take on a vibrant Sassuolo outfit on Saturday, Luciano Spalletti's men will hope to take all three points in what could be a high-scoring affair.

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of Sassuolo's last eight games, while Napoli have seen over that same total in five of their last six. With that in mind, the tip here is to back Napoli to win and both teams to score at around 2.5.

Juventus to win again

Juventus v Venezia
Sunday May 1, 11:30
Live on BT Sport 1

Venezia have lost each of their last eight games, leading to the sacking of manager Paolo Zanetti earlier this week. Putting youth team boss Andrea Soncin at the helm ahead of a meeting with Juventus - who have lost just one of their last 20 Serie A fixtures - seems like a tough ask for the team who have slumped to the bottom of the table in recent week.

There is every reason to expect a low scoring game here too as there have been under 2.5 goals scored in each of Juve's last 12 home games, while only Genoa (25) have managed fewer goals than the 27 scored by Venezia so far this season.

Armed with that knowledge, the tip is to back Juventus to win and under 2.5 goals at 3.5.

Salernitana to spring a surprise

Atalanta v Salernitana
Monday 2 May, 20:00
Live on BT Sport 2

After drawing 4-4 with Torino in midweek, Atalanta face a Salernitana side who have won each of their last three matches to climb close to escaping the relegation zone at last. They now sit just three points behind Cagliari and have a game in hand, so a win here would be huge for their hopes of survival.

Atalanta have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three home matches too, so there could be plenty of excitement in store here. The tip then is to back Salernitana to win at 11.0.
