San Marino v England

England
Once again the Three Lions are sailing serenely through a qualification campaign. Six games have brought six wins with 18 goals scored and just three conceded, although two of those came in the last fixture when Slovenia gave England their toughest Group E game yet. A win over San Marino would as good as guarantee England a place in Euro 2016 with second-placed Switzerland six points back and the top two in each group going through.
Even though Roy Hodgson is without a host of regulars, including top scorer Danny Welbeck, two-goal hero from the Slovenia match Jack Wilshere, and Jordan Henderson, his team should not be troubled in the slightest.

San Marino
They may have just one point from six games but that is already a huge improvement on their last qualification campaign. Ten fixtures in the World Cup 2014 resulted in 10 defeats with 54 goals conceded. San Marino have drawn one game (0-0 v Estonia) and have conceded 19 so far. They're still terrible but they are marginally less terrible than before.

Match Odds
Here is the news: you can actually back England for the win! Ok, they are just 1.01, but you can back England! There are worse ways of making one per cent on an investment than backing Hodgson's men to win this. Five games against the opposition have been won by a collective score of 31-1. San Marino have coincidentally lost 31 international fixtures in the last five seasons with just that draw against Estonia stopping it from being 32.
England are going to win this, it's just a case of by how many, which leads us to...

Over/Under 5.5 Goals
For any normal game the over/under line is set at 2.5 goals but we must scroll down to the 5.5 mark to see anything like parity between the prices. The lower total is a marginal favourite and would have been a winner when the two last met, a 5-0 England win at Wembley in October. That was the same score between the two in the World Cup 2014 meeting at Wembley, but the reverse fixture ended 8-0 to the Three Lions.
San Marino have improved defensively this campaign - their biggest home defeat was 4-0 to Switzerland - so it's understandable that punters are shifting towards a low total.
Given England can struggle to break teams down it's even tempting to play Under 4.5 at around3.00 with a view to Cashing Out late on.

To Score/First Goalscorer
Seven England players - Rooney, Kane, Walcott, Sterling, Vardy, Barkley and Oxlade-Chamberlain - are odds-on to score with the Betfair Sportsbook, so if searching for a decent price you will need to back a player to open the scoring or bag more than one goal, or pick an unheralded player to score. For instance, might Phil Jagielka or Gary Cahill score from a set piece perhaps? Both men can be backed at around 3.50 to get on the scoresheet.

Half With Most Goals
If the markets are right and the game is light on goals (relatively speaking) then it may be that England are forced to graft to break through the home defence before scoring a few late on. Backing the second half to feature more goals than the first at 2.50 looks a decent bet.
