The Adelaide Strikers won’t have to wait too long to seek revenge on the Hobart Hurricanes after they were hammered by the Canes on Monday by 8 wickets. The Strikers were restricted to a modest total of 143 at Blundstone Arena, with Hurricanes all-rounder Daniel Christian starring with the ball, picking up the impressive figures of 5/14. The Hurricanes had little trouble chasing down the total, with Hurricanes opener D’Arcy Short blasting 60 off 39 balls, while skipper Tim Paine steadied the ship with 41 off 42 balls. The big question is how much will the Adelaide Oval impact a change in fortune for the Strikers after they were comprehensively beaten in Hobart. The Strikers made 196 runs in their loss to the Heat in their opening BBL 06 match at the Adelaide Oval and won their last match at the Adelaide Oval against the Sixers, bowling them out for 104. The trick for Strikers coach Jason Gillespie is to get his side to perform in both disciplines of the game on the same night. It’s do-or-die for the 1-3 Strikers and The Wolf is expecting them to turn the tables on the Hurricanes back in front of their home fans.

Top Strikers Batsman
Ben Dunk made 31 in the loss to the Hurricanes on Monday and will once again be determined for a big score against his former side. He has made scores of 85 and 37 in his two innings at the Adelaide Oval during BBL 06 and The Wolf is predicting another explosive night from Dunk.
Bet: Ben Dunk ($3.75)
Top Hurricanes BatsmanThere’s no questioning that the Strikers bowling attack would have been busy devising a plan for Tim Paine and D’Arcy Short after the outcome on Monday. The Wolf is expecting an early wicket or two by the Strikers, handing George Bailey an opportunity to cash in. Bailey finished 6* in the run chase against the Strikers in Hobart and will be hoping to repeat his knock of 74* that he made earlier in the competition.
Bet: George Bailey ($5.50)
Top Strikers BowlerThere’s some big praise going around for Strikers speedster Billy Stanlake, with former Australian captain Ricky Ponting declaring that he’ll play for Australia down the track. Stanlake recorded the impressive figures of 1/17 in the loss to the Hurricanes and has been excellent at the Adelaide Oval this season. He has taken 2/28 and 3/17 in the Strikers’ matches at the Adelaide Oval during BBL 06 and must strike early here if the Strikers are to gain redemption.
Bet: Billy Stanlake ($5)
Top Hurricanes BowlerIt’s impossible to go past Dan Christian, after he took 5/14 against the same team in the same week. Christian hadn’t had a bowl during BBL 06 until his five-wicket haul in Hobart. Lucky he got in the ear of Hurricanes skipper Tim Paine.
