He was Sheffield Wednesday's boss just six days ago but Carlos Carvalhal is now a Premier League manager after being announced as Paul Clement's permanent replacement at Swansea City today.
The Portuguese enjoyed a strong couple of seasons at Hillsborough, finishing in the top six twice and leading the club to the 2015-16 Playoff Final where they lost to Hull. They were beaten by Huddersfield one stage earlier last season.
This campaign did not go so well for the Owls and the club was firmly mid-table when they parted company with the 52-year-old following a home defeat by Middlesbrough on December 23.
Carvalhal, who has been appointed until the end of the season, takes over a Swansea team in far worse trouble. Marooned at the bottom the Premier League, the Swans are five points from safety. There is much work for Carvalhal to do - his new team are comfortably the league's worst scorers with just 11 goals from 20 top-flight matches the Welsh outfit also possess one its worst defences having conceded 31 goals.
Little wonder then that Swansea are just 1.21 to be relegated and odds-on to finish rock bottom.
Carvalhal was backed at a high of 20.00 to be named as Clement's replacement.
