Just four of the Premier League's 'big six' remain in this season's FA Cup but they all avoided each other in Monday's fifth round draw and look to have a great opportunity to reach the quarter-final. Mike Norman explains...
Barring Liverpool v Everton in round three this season's FA Cup has been devoid of big-name clashes and that continued on Monday night when all four of the remaining 'big six' clubs were kept apart.
Perhaps the tie of the round is League One leaders Wigan Athletic hosting runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City at the DW Stadium.
The Latics have already dumped two Premier League sides out of the competition, beating Bournemouth 3-0 and West Ham 2-0 in two comfortable home wins to reach round five. The Citizens are looking invincible however, and with Pep Guardiola's men chasing an unprecedented quadruple you can guarantee that they'll send a strong squad across the River Douglas.
Man City remain the 3.30 favourites to win the FA Cup following the fifth round draw, just ahead of their city rivals United at 4.60, Chelsea at 5.30, and Tottenham at 6.40.
Manchester United could face Huddersfield in an all Premier League tie, a match that they suffered their first away defeat of the season in earlier this campaign, while Chelsea will host Championship side Hull, and Tottenham will travel to the winners of Rochdale v Millwall should they prevail at Wembley in their own replay against Notts County
Elsewhere, Liverpool's conquerors West Brom50.00, were drawn at home to Southampton36.00, in the only guaranteed all-Premier League tie, while fifth favourites Leicester - available to back at 16.00 - were drawn at home to Championship highflyers Sheffield United.
