Roger Federer v Jeremy ChardyWith all of the big names all but done, Federer has one hand on the title. Chardy is the only player remaining in the half of the draw to beat him but that came on the clay of Rome back in 2014. The last time they met it ended 6-2 6-1 in Federer’s favour and if the tennis he produced against Krajinovic is anything to go by, we will not see Chardy come close. The Frenchman has the power to take it to Roger but nowhere near enough consistency to get it done over a two hour stretch.

Pablo Carreno-Busta v Kevin AndersonThe Wolf says to look past the H2H in this one. It reads 3-0 in Anderson’s favour but the speed of the courts this week do not suit him. He has needed to dig deep to beat opponents that should not trouble him. On the flip-side, the Spaniard is coming off a dominant win over Medvedev – a player with a similar style to the South African. Carreno-Busta was a semi finalist here a year ago and is every chance of replicating that performance. The Spaniard with the handicap start is the best bet of the day!

Taylor Fritz v Borna CoricTheir performances to date have been contrasting, as has the attention they have received. As expected, young American Taylor Fritz has taken the limelight but he has had to work hard for it – coming from a set down in multiple matches. Coric on the other hand has been completely dominant dropping just 9 games in 3 matches. He has won almost 60% of return points in the tournament which is just ridiculous. We will see him consistently put pressure on the Fritz serve and it will take its toll.
