Roma 1.36 v Plzen 10.00; The Draw 5.80

Both teams in erratic form

Last season's Champions League semi-finalists got off to a poor start to the new campaign when they were beaten 3-0 by Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
That loss was followed by a Serie A defeat at Bologna, which was their fourth successive league game without victory. Roma have since bounced back with home wins over Frosinone and Lazio, but remain well off the pace in Italy, ten points behind the leaders Juventus in eighth place.
They will hope to continue their home form when they host a Viktoria Plzen side that have had mixed fortunes of late. The Czech champions have only won two of their last five games (W2 D1 L2).
Viktoria Plzen drew their opening Champions League match at home to CSKA Moscow. This might not seem disastrous, but that match represented their best chance of a victory in the group stages and they surrendered a two-goal lead on the night to draw 2-2. Like Roma, they do come into this match on a high though. At the weekend they beat Sparta Prague 1-0 to move level on points with their domestic rivals at the top of the Czech Liga.

Roma can get the job done early

This looks like a perfect opportunity for Roma to get back to winning ways in the Champions League.
Roma were leading at half-time in both of their victories against Frosinone and Lazio. Throw in the fact that Viktoria Plzen have conceded seven goals in their last two away games and it seems likely that the Roma half-time/full-time victory should land at 2.00.
