2020 AFL Round 15 – Tips, Predictions & Odds

Tuesday 1/9/20

5:40pm Hawthorn Hawks vs. Adelaide Crows @ Adelaide Oval

Hawthorn is struggling to find their best form but that should be easily regained against the Crows this week.

It’s technically a home game for Hawthorn, but the Crows won’t have to travel. Playing at Adelaide Oval should help the Crows, but they have had nothing to get excited about this season.

Adelaide is riding a lengthy losing streak and although Hawthorn could be there for the taking, punters have no confidence in the Crows.

Bookmakers have 15.5 points between them and given recent form, we are siding with the Hawks.

Betting tip: Hawthorn –15.5 @ $1.90

8:10pm West Coast Eagles vs. Essendon Bombers @ Gabba

West Coast is seeking a quick bounce-back after losing to the Tigers on Thursday. They looked solid in their performance, losing 88-61, but more was expected.

They scored a quality win against the Giants prior to that and if they bring that form to the table, Essendon could be in trouble.

The Bombers are coming off an 87-71 win over Hawthorn and we will see how that form stacks up earlier in the night.

They are a dangerous team when on their game and they could give West Coast something to think about.

However, we think the Eagles will be too strong and they could pull away in the second half.

Betting tip: West Coast 1-39 @ $1.85

7:10pm Richmond Tigers vs. Fremantle Dockers @ Metricon Stadium

The Tigers sent a signal to the rest of the competition with their gutsy win over the West Coast Eagles last week.

Richmond has become one of the teams to beat in 2020 and Fremantle could be in for another rough night after losing to GWS.

The Dockers were given a chance against the Giants but the 91-53 defeat won’t give them much confidence going forward.

Richmond is the better team in this contest and they should be able to cover the large spread bookmakers have on offer.

Betting tip: Richmond –28.5 @ $1.90

4:40pm Sydney Swans vs. Melbourne Demons @ Cazaly’s Stadium

Sydney couldn’t get going against Port Adelaide last week, losing 73-47, and it will be tough to rebound against Melbourne.

The Demons got back to their best form with a 52-49 win over St Kilda. They are a team that could trouble some of the better teams in the playoffs, should they get in.

Consistency hasn’t been easy to come by for Melbourne this season, which is why punters might be cautious this week. However, we expect Melbourne to carry on their good form and score a comfortable victory.

The line is set at 16.5 and that’s within their range.

Betting tip: Melbourne –16.5 @ $1.90

7:10pm GWS Giants vs. Carlton Blues @ Metricon Stadium

The Giants got back to their winning best last week against the Dockers and that form should continue this week.

The 91-53 victory was a much-needed boost for the Giants, who haven’t been able to muster much momentum throughout 2020.

Scoring back-to-back victories shouldn’t be overly hard against Carlton, who are coming off a 72-48 defeat at the hands of Collingwood.

They scored only seven goals and they were lucky the margin wasn’t bigger, as the Magpies had 10 goals and 12 behinds.

The Giants will be heavy favourites to win and they should cover the spread.

Betting tip: Giants to win

Friday 4/9/20

7:50pm Brisbane Lions vs. Collingwood Magpies @ Gabba

Brisbane enjoyed a week off in Round 14, following their 50-48 win over the St Kilda Saints in Round 13. That rest should help them this week in what will be a tough game against Collingwood.

The Magpies were too good for Carlton on Sunday, scoring a 72-48 win and the margin should have been much bigger. They dominated the game throughout and they have the ability to match up with the Lions.

However, with plenty of rest in their legs, Brisbane will be tough to hold out. They are ready to let loose and the Magpies could be in for a wakeup call on Friday.

Betting tip: Brisbane to win
