Both the Rebels and Force are coming off disappointing losses in Round 9, so this game is important for title hopes.

The Force’s chances of winning the Super Rugby title are gone, but they still have the ability to cause upsets throughout the season. They looked good in the first half against the Brumbies last week, before condition gave out late.

They have been competitive at times but consistency hasn’t been good. Recent offensive struggles have also contributed to their 0-7 record.

The Force have scored only 27 points from their last three games, and they have given up 116. It doesn’t bode well against a Rebels team that typically has a potent offensive unit.

Melbourne is looking to rebound after losing 38-32 to the Waratahs last week. It wasn’t a huge upset result, but the Rebels were expected to be too good.

They now find themselves two wins back from the Waratahs in the premiership, so scoring a win this week is vital.

It’s back-to-back losses for the Rebels, after they scored only three points against the Reds three weeks ago. They will need to be better this week, because the Force won’t lie down easily.

Bookmakers have the Rebels as 12.5-point favourites and that is a fair line for both teams. If the Rebels come out of the gates on fire, the spread could be covered by halftime.

7:15pm Queensland Reds vs. ACT Brumbies

The Reds and Brumbies square off in a top of the table clash this Saturday, and it could be the game of the season.

Coming off a bye, the Reds are fresh and ready for battle. They scored a 57-5 win over the Western Force two weeks ago and that was their second consecutive win.

Prior to that they put on a defensive clinic when beating the Rebels 19-3. That win holds them in good stead this week and another win would see them bridge the two-game gap to the Brumbies.

In their prior meeting this season, it was the Brumbies who came out on top. However, it was only a two-point game, so this contest could go either way.

The Brumbies looked patchy against the Force last week, but they got the job done in the second half. They scored a 31-14 win, which followed up their 38-11 win over the Waratahs.

They have dropped only one game all season, and they have been the class team in Super Rugby to date.

Bookmakers have the Brumbies as $1.72 favourites, with the Reds paying $2.10. With the bye week in the bag, the Reds could be the better team this week.

Despite some inconsistencies this year, they are a quality team on their day and they have found scoring form of late.

Stick with the Reds at the better price and expect a free-flowing game from the two best teams in Super Rugby.
