Getafe start their season against Osasuna on Friday night and they will be hoping to begin in better form than they ended the previous campaign.

When the 2019-20 season was paused due to the current health crisis, Getafe were challenging strongly for a Champions League spot, having only narrowly missed out the previous season when they finished fifth. Yet when the season restarted they only won one of their remaining eleven games and finished eighth (P11 W1 D5 L5).

Osasuna finished tenth, only two points behind Getafe. They have already begun their campaign with a 2-0 win at Cadiz and seem to be a little underrated here. Getafe have been one of Spain's strongest teams over the last couple of years, but they have yet to prove that they can rediscover their form and Osasuna played much better post-lockdown (P11 W5 D3 L3).

This match could be more competitive than the odds suggest and both teams to score looks big at 2.34.

Celta Vigo are quick to draw at home

Celta Vigo 2.30 v Valencia 3.30; The Draw 3.70

For what's it's worth at this stage of the season, Valencia are top of La Liga and will be looking to remain there when they travel to Celta Vigo.

Valencia beat Levante in their opening match, with Manu Vallejo coming off the bench to score two late goals that sealed a 4-2 win. It was a welcome boost in a summer when several key players have left the club and as yet, have not been replaced.

Celta Vigo's season started with a 0-0 draw away at Eibar. There was a real sense that the team badly underperformed last season in relation to the talent in the squad, having barely escaped relegation. They will hope for a more comfortable campaign, in Oscar Garcia's first full season in charge of the club.

Since Garcia took over in December, Celta Vigo have only lost twice at home and have drawn the majority of their matches (P12 W3 D7 L2). As the outsider, the draw could be worth backing at 3.70.

Madrid will begin title defence with win

Real Sociedad 4.90 v Real Madrid 1.77; The Draw 4.00

Real Madrid's defence of last season's title begins with a trip to Real Sociedad.

When the teams met in this fixture back in June, Madrid won 2-1. It was one of ten straight wins after the restart which saw them overtake Barcelona and win the title. Now the question is whether they can start this new season with a similar sort of consistency.

That defeat was actually one of Sociedad's better performances towards the end of last season, when their form totally fell away. They started this season with a 1-1 draw at Real Valladolid last weekend and now have a very difficult home game. Sociedad will hope to be boosted by the debut of David Villa who started training this week after contracting Coronavirus. Silva is Sociedad's replacement for Martin Odegaard, who has returned to Real Madrid following a loan spell.

If Real Sociedad can rediscover their form then this could be a difficult start for Real Madrid, but based on what we know, we have to assume the champions will win this one. Odds of 1.77 for an away win seems very reasonable considering how Real Madrid finished last season.
