Metz v Montpellier (20th v 13th)
Sat, 19:00 GMT

Team news and the poor scoring form of the home side suggest a low-scoring encounter at Stade Saint-Symphorien on Saturday night.

Metz have averaged less than a goal a game this season (18 goals in 19 games) and have failed to find the net in four of their last five games in all competitions. Mevlut Erding and Cheick Diabate, their only two strikers of proven Ligue 1 standard, are both missing this weekend, leaving the hosts short of quality up front.

Montpellier would almost certainly settle for a draw at the end of a turbulent week. An uneasy truce has been called between president Louis Nicollin and manager Frederic Hantz following a war of words via the media but the mood at the club remains tense. Montpellier also lost their best player this week when midfielder Morgan Sanson joined Marseille for €12m.

All things considered the price around evens on Unders looks good value.

St Etienne v Angers (8th v 18th)
Sun, 16:00 GMT
Live on BT Sport ESPN

Five of Angers' ideal outfield Starting XI are ruled out of this match, suggesting they'll struggle to pick up anything from this tricky trip to St Etienne.

The visitors' ideal front three - Famara Diedhiou, Billy Ketkeophomphone and Karl Toko Ekambi - are all missing, while left-back Yoann Andreu and midfielder Cheikh Ndoye are absent, too. The squad is a touch deeper following a couple of emergency signings this month but the side that manager Stephane Moulin fields will be short of quality. Angers were struggling even when they were at full strength - the visitors are winless in eight games (W0-D3-L5).

Angers' team news and poor form hand St Etienne a good opportunity to win. The hosts picked up a creditable point at in-form Lille (1-1) last weekend and are strong enough to take advantage of Angers' difficulties.

Lyon v Marseille (4th v 6th)
Sun, 20:00 GMT
Live on BT Sport 1

Overs is the favourite in the Under/Over 2.5 Goals market this weekend but Unders might be the value play for a couple of reasons.

Marseille lost 4-1 at home to Monaco last weekend so manager Rudi Garcia's priority will be ensuring his team defend better. The visitors will work hard to frustrate Lyon and would take a draw from this tough fixture.

Even though they're the home side Lyon will also try to defend better after losing 3-2 at Caen last weekend. Four of their nine home games have featured Under 2.5 Goals this season so their matches have not been a goal-laden as some people might think despite the fact Lyon are a naturally attack-minded side.

The first meeting between these teams ended in a 0-0 draw in September. A similar scoreline would be a surprise, but the three-goal barrier may not necessarily be broken.
