GWS v Brisbane
Sat 4:35pm at Spotless Stadium

Footy heads to Spotless Stadium for the first time in 2018, with the Giants taking on the Lions in the Saturday twilight fixture. The Lions were beaten by a cricket score a fortnight ago, but rebounded well to almost pull off a victory in the Q-Clash- but facing GWS away is an entirely different proposition. The Giants forward trio of Cameron, Patton and Greene will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing this Lions side- and if the midfield can keep pounding the ball inside 50, things could get ugly.
Form
Giants (WWLWD) – The Saints pulled off the upset of the season in 2017 when they beat the Giants and it so very nearly happened again last round before GWS hung on for a draw despite the Saints kicking the last 3 goals. Leon Cameron won’t be worried given the missing personnel, but he will be disappointed with the horrific inaccuracy- 9.19…..under the roof!
Lions (LLLLL) – The poor old Lions, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Cam Rayner had the chance to draw the contest but did not kick truly- though the youngster was certainly not to blame. The inability of the Lions to deal with the Suns pressure, was.
Stats That Matter– GWS have won 7 of their last 9 matches at Spotless Stadium
– The Lions have lost their last 4 games against the Giants, with an average margin of 53 points
– Callan Ward averages 27 disposals and 114 Fantasy points a game against Brisbane
–  The Giants are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games
– Dylan Shiel racked up 38 touches in their meeting last year
– The Lions are averaging just 71 points a game in 2018
Betting Data
2018 Line: Giants- 1-4; Lions- 1-4
2018 Over-Under: Giants- 2-3; Lions- 1-4
What To Expect
The Wolf is expecting the Giants to make a big statement in their first game at ‘home’ for 2018. The Lions are still win-less this season and given their recent record against the Giants, it is hard to see them finally getting on the board. They have several promising youngsters who look like they will have big careers, but now, in 2018, these cubs are just not ready to compete with the likes of a successive preliminary finalist.
