Rome Masters Feature Previews

Rafael Nadal v Denis ShapovalovRafa was in beast mode, dropping just a single game in his second round win over Dzumur. He destroyed the Dzumhur 2nd serve winning 13 of 14 points! doing so against Shapovalov will not be so easy. The lefty v lefty battle is a unique one. Rafa is used to pounding his forehand cross court into opponents’ backhands but against the teenager he will be hitting right into his strength – the forehand. As we saw in Shapovalov’s win over Rafa late last year, he likes to hit down the line from that wing. Shapovalov is also unique in that he likes to play up on the baseline and move into the net after pushing his opponent out wide. The Wolf cannot wait to see this one!
Best Bet: Over 17.5 games ($1.70)
Kyle Edmund v Alexander Zverev
Zverev made it 10 wins in a row yesterday and he has now won the last 20 sets he has contested. How we can get almost even money for that to continue is beyond belief according to The Wolf. Edmund has been kind to us in recent weeks – after all he did beat Novak as a big outsider last week. That being said, it is the Zverev one-two punch that Wolfy cannot get enough of. It has been 7 matches, repeat… 7 matches since Zverev last dropped his serve! That is a remarkable streak, especially when you consider that it has come on clay – a surface where holding serve is traditionally more difficult. He is in rare form and his winning memories from a year ago here will carry him to another final.
Best Bet: Sets Zverev 2-0 ($1.83)
Juan Martin Del Potro v David Goffin
This has the makings of an epic! Del Potro is still adjusting to clay while Goffin is still below his best in terms of consistency. Del Potro may have beaten Tsitsipas in straight sets but it was not easy. He needed to play some incredible tennis to win the first before wearing him down in the second set. It will be a much tougher task against Goffin who is 4-0 in his last four matches when going the distance. They have split the two prior meetings with none of the 5 sets decided by more than a single break. The Over looks a very handy bet.
Best Bet: Over 23.5 games ($1.91)
