Dortmund hope for Atletico favour

Borussia Dortmund can still win Group A, but they must hope that Atletico Madrid fail to beat Club Brugge is they are to go into the knockout rounds of the Champions League as one of the seeds.

The Bundesliga leaders surprise home draw with Brugge in the last round of games, has left them two points behind Atletico. They need to beat Monaco to stand any chance of topping the group.

With Monaco very much focused on their fight against relegation from Ligue 1 and unable to finish any higher than bottom of the group, Dortmund should be in for a relatively easy evening. Monaco have only claimed one point from a possible 15 so far and are still 19th in Ligue 1, despite their victory over Amiens last week.

Dortmund are unbeaten in six since losing their away match at Atletico Madrid. On Saturday they won 2-1 at Schalke and now have a nine point lead over Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.

Big price for Borussia victory

There are many teams needing a win from their last Champions League game, who face a more difficult opponent than Monaco, yet are priced shorter than Dortmund are to claim victory.

This is perhaps a reflection that just two seasons ago, Monaco reached the semi-finals of this competition. Most of their best players have since left though and with Monaco having fared so poorly both in France and in Europe this season, Dortmund's price for a win screams value.

The 1.73 for an away win might just be the best bet of the day. Dortmund are the stronger team, are in much better form and have plenty of motivation. They should be much shorter.
