Liverpool striker Danny Ings says his selfless running and workrate can be a major plus for the Anfield side in the new season.
Ings joined Brendan Rodgers' team from Burnley this summer and he says his hard-working style can help to free space for Liverpool's more creative players.
The England U-21 international faces stiff competition for a starting jersey at Liverpool with Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert being joined by another new recruit in Christian Benteke during the off-season.
Ings is confident he has plenty to offer.
"After my knee injury a few years ago, I sort of devoted my whole time to working on my speed, my movement, and my creativity," he said.
"What I've found was really effective, even at Championship level, was making runs constantly in behind. As soon as a defender switches off that run in behind is so effective."
With the likes of Philippe Coutinho already on the books and now fellow Brazilian Roberto Firmino having joined the club, Ings hopes to create space to allow those players shine.
"With the way the game is going, it's full of creative players now, players who want to be on the ball all the time. But I really do think, even if I don't touch the ball as much as some other guys if I'm still stretching the game it's still as effective," he said.
"It can all get too crunched and if you don't create space for those players, in behind you, then it's hard to create opportunities. I'll always work on my game and stretching in behind."
Liverpool are 11/4 to finish in the top four next season while the Reds are 20/1 to win the Premier League title.
Ings is available at 50/1 to be top scorer in the Premier League next season.
