Nice v Montpellier (3rd v 11th)

For the first time this season Nice's two leading scorers Alassane Plea (11 goals) and Mario Balotelli (nine goals) are missing at the same time, vastly reducing the chances of this being a high-scoring encounter.

Plea and Balotelli have scored 20 of Nice's 42 Ligue 1 goals (48%) between them, a stat that underlines what a huge gap their absence leaves in attack. Nice lack a high-quality third-choice striker - the options are Anastasios Donis, yet to start a game this season, Bassem Srarfi, a January signing yet to get any minutes in a Nice shirt and Mickael Le Bihan, whose last Ligue 1 appearance was 17 months ago.

Montpellier arrive in tremendous form having picked up 10pts from their last four matches. With Nice depleted in attack the visitors will be confident they can frustrate the home side and would be happy to pick up a point, meaning they could well play cautiously.

The Under/Over 2.5 Goals line is set around evens, which seems askew given Nice's team news. Unders is the selection.

Nancy v Toulouse (18th v 8th)
Sat, 19:00 GMT

The market makes Nancy marginal favourites - they're 2.88 to win, with Toulouse 2.98- but those prices make little sense when you see the recent form of these two sides.

Nancy have lost their last four Ligue 1 fixtures and dropped into the relegation zone following their 1-0 loss in a rearranged fixture at Caen on Tuesday night. Ligue 1's lowest scorers, Nancy have netted only 18 times in 26 games and managed just three goals in their last eight outings.

Toulouse had arguably the best transfer window of any Ligue 1 side, adding strikers Andy Delort and Corentin Jean to pep up their attack. Since the window closed Toulouse are unbeaten in four matches (W2-D2-L0) and produced one of their best performances of the season last weekend at PSG (0-0).
Given how these two sides have played in recent weeks Toulouse stand a better chance of avoiding defeat than the prices suggest. The visitors are a strong Draw No Bet selection.

St Etienne v Caen (5th v 15th)
Sun, 14:00 GMT
Live on BT Sport ESPN

St Etienne came up short against Manchester United in the Europa League but should be strong enough to see off a limited Caen side this weekend.

Having gone out of Europe St Etienne's push for a top-four spot now becomes their priority and demanding manager Christophe Galtier will insist the players are focused on domestic matters ahead of this game.

St Etienne have a solid W7-D5-L1 home record and are W5-D2-L0 against sides, like Caen, currently in the bottom-half of the table. Caen are dreadful travellers: their W1-D2-L10 away record is the second-worst in the division.

Given the difference in class it's a surprise St Etienne are as big as 1.78 to collect all 3pts. That bet is worth considering but we prefer St Etienne on the Asian handicap. With our selection you'll make money If St Etienne win by one goal and a larger profit if the hosts win by two goals or more.
