Manchester City briefly moved top of the table after thrashing Liverpool 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, though much of their dominance came after the away side had been reduced to 10 men following Sadio Mane's red card for a high challenge on goalkeeper Ederson.

City took the lead against the run of play when Sergio Aguero beat the offside trap midway through the first half, rounded the Reds keeper and calmly slotted home.

Jurgen Klopp's men looked extremely dangerous going forward but failed to create any clear cut chances thanks to a poor final ball, and when Mane was dismissed in the 37th minute their chances of getting back into the game diminished.

Gabriel Jesus scored either side of the interval to extend City's lead, and substitute Leroy Sane bagged a brace to give Pep Guardiola's men a resounding victory.

Manchester United later retook top spot from their city rivals but could manage only a 2-2 draw with Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored twice for the Potters, his first giving Stoke the lead approaching half time, and his second levelling the game up just after the hour mark after Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku had helped put United in front.

The game was slightly overshadowed however by a touchline spat between Mark Hughes and Jose Mourinho, who failed to shake the Stoke boss' hand at the final whistle.

In the Premier League Winner market Man City remain favourites at 2.36, just ahead of United at 4.40. Liverpool are out to 17.00 following their Etihad hiding.

Kane hits a ton as favourites oblige

It was a good Saturday afternoon for the 'big six' clubs in action as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham all recorded victories over Bournemouth (3-0), Leicester (1-2), and Everton (0-3) respectively.

The Gunners put last month's thrashing at Liverpool firmly behind them with a comfortable victory over Eddie Howe's men, Danny Welbeck (two) and record signing Alexandre Lacazette getting on the scoresheet, while at the King Power Stadium it was a former Foxes favourite - N'Golo Kante - who effectively won the game following Alvaro Morata's opener.

But it was a landmark day for Harry Kane as the Spurs hitman scored his 100th goal for the club with what he later described as a fluke goal - his intended cross finding the back of the net - before scoring his 101st just after the interval to cap an impressive win. Christian Eriksen scored Tottenham's second goal.

Following their opening day defeat to Burnley defending Champions Chelsea are up to third in the table following three straight victories and they are now available to back at 5.80 to win the title, while Spurs and Arsenal can be backed at 13.50 and 27.00 respectively.

Following goals for all the big names on Saturday the Top Goalscorer market is beginning to hot up. Lukaku currently heads the market at 3.90, ahead of Kane 4.60, Jesus 7.80, Morata 8.20, Aguero 11.00, and Lacazette 19.00.

Seagulls off the mark while Hornets impress again

In Saturday's two remaining fixtures Brighton got their first win of the season at the fourth time of asking thanks to an impressive 3-1 win over West Brom, while Watford continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 0-2 victory at Southampton.

Chris Hughton's men still remain Relegation favourites however - available to back at 2.46 - while Watford are currently trading at 3.20 to record a Top 10 Finish.
