He was two points away from losing to Lajovic last night and Monteiro is not stranger to this surface.  He was impressive in his opening round win against Gilles Simon and his loss to Verdasco earlier this year in Buenos Aires was close than the scoreline suggests. This looks a big start!

Gael Monfils v Leonardo MayerMonfils may hold a 3-0 record against Mayer but all three meetings have gone the distance. Monfils is notorious for coming in and out of matches both mentally and physically. Only 2 of his last 9 matches have ended in straight sets and The Wolf can see this one going the distance.

John Isner v Alex de MinaurYou cannot get enough on Over 22.5 games according to The Wolf. There have been a total of 29 tiebreakers in Isner’s last 17 matches! De Minaur isn’t far behind with 4 of the last 6 sets he has contested also going the distance. As we saw at Wimbledon, Isner has trouble generating break point opportunities which leaves De Minaur to win most of the baseline exchanges. We could got three sets and not see a single break of serve. The Wolf went close to rolling out all 5 chips for this one.
