ATP Tennis Tips: Newport/Umag/Bastad – 2nd Round

It was a mixed bag for the Aussies overnight. Millman posted a dominant win but Tomic and De Minaur came up short with the latter blowing a match point opportunity.

Adrian Mannarino v Jordan ThompsonThomspon was kind to us in his opening round match but will run into trouble against Mannarino. The Frenchman ran out a convincing 6-4 6-1 winner when they met a year ago on grass  and has won 8 of his last 11 matches. Two of his three losses came against Federer and Djokovic which bodes well for a match against someone ranked outsider the top 100. Mannarino should be a firmer favourite making Mannarino -3.5 a great bet.
Best Bet: Mannarino -3.5 ($1.85)

Vasek Posposil v Mischa ZverevAfter winning the title in Nottingham, Zverev was primed for a big showing at Wimbledon. Unfortunately it took the sting out of his game and he was bundled out in the first round. He has had a full fortnight off as a result and will be back to his best this week. Zverev is 2-0 lifetime against Posposil and his lefty serve should be on full display on the grass.
Best Bet: M.Zverev WIN ($1.57)

ATP Umag Tips

Andrey Rublev v Felix Auger-AliassimeOne rising star takes on another but The Wolf cannot believe the price on offer for Rublev. Auger-Aliassmise has won just two matches on the ATP Tour which has Wolfy shocked that he is almost a coin flip against the man who won this title last year! Rublev made the final at the Next Gen Finals and was runner up to Monfils in Doha earlier this year. The Wolf was close to rolling out all 5 chips for the Russian.
