Manchester City

Since being outclassed by Everton in mid-January, Manchester City have made an encouraging recovery.

They were the better team the following weekend against Spurs, with only City's profligacy allowing the Londoners to leave with a point. Since then they have beaten Crystal Palace in the FA Cup and West Ham in the Premier League away from home, scoring seven and conceding none.

It will be the two successive clean sheets that will have most pleased Pep Guardiola, having not achieved this feat since the consecutive 4-0 wins over Borussia Monchengladbach and then Bournemouth, way back in September.

Guardiola's squad has been strengthened by the recent arrival of Gabriel Jesus, with the Brazilian finding the net in the 4-0 thrashing of West Ham. The City manager must decide whether to bring Sergio Aguero back into the team, after his attacking unit performed so well against the Hammers, with Ilkay Gundogan being the only notable absentee.

Swansea

While Guardiola is only doing what's expected of him, the new Swansea manager Paul Clement has surprised many by how he's been able to turn things around.

Bob Bradley did not have impact that Swansea's owners had hoped, but Clement has been able to make a difference. The Swans' midweek victory over Southampton was their third in the four games since Clement took charge of the club.

The nine points has seen Swansea climb out of the relegation zone and move level with Leicester and Middlesbrough. Considering how those two clubs have been playing, it now looks like Swansea could have enough to survive the drop, despite looking doomed just a few weeks ago.

Clement is without three of his squad for the trip to Manchester. Jordan Ayew is at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Oliver McBurnie and Jefferson Montero are injured.

Ref Watch

Mike Dean will take charge of this one. He showed four yellow cards when he refereed the match between these two teams at the Liberty Stadium, back in the May of last season.

Match Odds

As you'd expect, Manchester City are the 1.24 favourites, with the draw at 7.40 and Swansea at 15.00.

Considering the unpredictability of Guardiola's team and Swansea's improvement, the price for a home win is a little too slim. It also makes alternative options such as Man City to win Half-Time/Full-Time at 1.70 and for them to Win to Nil at 1.99 not quite good enough to recommend. Overall, the match result markets should be avoided

Over/Under 2.5 Goals

Over 2.5 goals is the big favourite here at 1.43, with unders at 3.10.

It certainly seems nailed-on. Swansea's last 11 league games have produced three goals or more, while Manchester City have seen over 2.5 goals in their last six matches in all competitions.

A better value bet can be found in the Both Teams To Score market. You can get odds of 1.97 for both teams to find the net, despite Swansea averaging 1.75 goals per game in the Premier League since Clement took charge.

To Score

With there being uncertainty as to whether Aguero or Jesus (or both) will start against Swansea, it's best to look towards Manchester City's midfielders for goals.

The best value are Leroy Sane and Yaya Toure, at likely odds of 3.00. Sane has scored in two of his last three games, while Toure takes penalties and has found the net in his last two appearances. For Swansea, Gylfi Sigurdsson is worth a punt at odds of 7.00.
