What To Expect

We’re set for the first edition of the ‘Battle Of The Bridge’ and it’s shaping up as a one sided contest. The Giants have named a full strength squad; barring injury to star recruit Brett Deledio and a suspended Lachie Whiftield. The likes of Johnson, Coniglio, Shaw, Cameron and Mumford all make their first appearance of 2017 as part of a formidable outfit. The Swans continue to make changes at the selection desk giving Isaac Heeney a rest, however they do welcome back Lance Franklin from shoulder surgery. It will be interesting to see how Reid, Tippett and Franklin work together up forward, given the smaller size of their home ground there’s only room for two of these players in their best team. The only thing saving the Swans in this one is Sydney’s weather, which is horrible to say the least. With wet weather expected, the line has gone up at -10.5. The Giants have named superior small forwards in Johnson, Greene and Smith and the Wolf thinks these players will be too much for the Swans to handle. All aboard the GWS Giants train.
