Federer claimed his 7th title of the season with a win over Del Potro in the Basel final but has remarkably withdrawn from the Paris Masters with a back injury. It virtually ends the battle for the year end number 1 ranking but he will shift his focus to recovery for the ATP Tour Finals in London. The Wolf is predicting several upsets this week and will be betting around Nadal who has never won the Paris Masters.
ATP Paris Masters Feature Previews
Gilles Simon v Jeremy ChardyThe Parisian crowd will not know which Frenchman to cheer for in this one but we will. Simon leads the H2H 4-0 and has won 9 of the 10 sets contested by the pair. We have also seen him play some solid tennis in recent weeks. He has wins over Goffin and Gulbis not to mention being very competitive against both Gasquet and Alexander Zverev. Simon loves the ball coming onto the racquet and the heavy Chardy forehand will play right into his hands.
Best Bet: Sets Simon 2-0 ($2.40)

Julien Benneteau v Denis ShapovalovAfter making a real splash at the US Open Shapovalov has struggled – winning just 1 of his last 4 matches. Now he faces a seasoned veteran who has found some form. Benneteau will have good memories here having beaten Federer in the past and would love to set up a meeting with countryman Tsonga in then second round. The Wolf is predicting him to target the Shapovalov backhand. We have seen the Canadian rushed on that wing in recent weeks and Benneteau will no doubt look draw errors.
Best Bet: Benneteau WIN ($1.80)
