Atletico in danger of missing the cut
Atletco Madrid have been something of a permanent fixture in the latter stages of the Champions League in recent seasons, but now they face the very real prospect of elimination at the first hurdle.
Diego Simeone's side have yet to win a game in Group C and could only draw away at Qarabag in the last round of games. The group leaders Chelsea are five points clear of Atletico, while second placed Roma have made a bright start, winning away at Qarabag and claiming a valuable away point at Stamford Bridge in their last outing.
As if that wasn't enough to overcome, Atletico are suffering a poor run of form that extends to their domestic fixtures. They have only won one of their last seven games and surrendered a lead at home to Villarreal at the weekend, as they drew 1-1.
Atletico will nevertheless be expected to turn around their poor form when they host a Qarabag that lost their last away game in the Azerbaijan Premyer Liqa. Qarabag are a tough side to beat at home, but were thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea in their only away game in this Champions League campaign.
Slim win for Atletico
Atletico are the heavy favourites to overcome their bad run and win at 1.12, with the draw at 10.50 and Qarabag a massive 46.00.
With Atletico such a short price, it's difficult to find value in any of the match result markets. One exception comes by backing an Atletico win and under 2.5 goals double, at a generous price of 3.00. These sides drew 0-0 a fortnight ago and Atletico have not scored more than one goal in any of their last seven games.
