Juve chasing leaders on two fronts
Juventus claimed a vital three points on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over AC Milan.
Milan were expected to challenge Juve's dominance of Italian football after a major summer spending spree, but instead both Napoli and Lazio have proved to be surprise packages. Napoli are top of Serie A, three points ahead of Juventus after an unbeaten start, while Lazio are level on points with the reigning champions.
Juventus lost at home to Lazio in a recent encounter, but since that defeat they have won all four of their games. This included a 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon in the reverse fixture, in which Juve had to come from behind after an Alex Sandro own goal.
Sporting now need to bounce back with a positive result at home if they are to stand any chance of making the knockout rounds. They currently trail second placed Juventus by three points, but can gain hope from the fact that they have won both of their games since losing to the Italians.
Away win looks great value
Juventus are the favourites at 2.08, with the draw at 3.55 and Sporting Lisbon at 4.10.
It's rare to see Juventus at a price bigger than evens and backing them to win has to be considered. Sporting have failed to win any of their last four home matches in the Champions League, in which they lost to Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and this season, Barcelona.
