Real Madrid have announced that defender Pepe has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Portugal international had entered the final year of his deal and his new contract will see him stay until at least June 2017. The news follows hot on the heels of fellow centre-back Sergio Ramos' extension last week.
Pepe has been a long-standing servant of the club, having joined from Porto in 2007, and has won two league and Copa del Rey titles along with the Champions League,
The 32-year-old has been a regular fixture for the club since joining and has made 195 league appearances, scoring 10 goals.
Pepe missed the club's final two pre-season matches with a thigh muscle strain, but returned to full training this week.
He is expected to take his place in the starting line-up for Real Madrid's La Liga opener against Sporting Gijon on Sunday.
