Juventus are keen on signing Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen, according to the London Evening Standard.
The 23-year-old has proven a hugely effective performer since his move to White Hart Lane two years ago, one of the few successes among players signed by Andre Villas-Boas following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. The Danish international has scored 17 goals in 62 Premier League starts to date.
Mauricio Pochettino failed to secure a top-four finish last season and has been hard at work re-shuffling his squad with a number of under-performing stars being offloaded to make way for new additions.
The London Evening Standard claim that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would want at least £35m for Eriksen, and point out that such a sum could be out of reach for the Serie A title holders.
Juventus have lost a lot of creativity over the summer, with Chilean Arturo Vidal leaving for Bayern Munich and veteran midfielder Andrea Pirlo moving to the MLS. Eriksen would offer Massimiliano Allegri a fresh option to boost his attacking choices.
The Standard state that Juventus would look to Eriksen’s team-mate Erik Lamela as a potential transfer target should they be unable to secure their first-choice Tottenham target.
