South Sydney has been dealt a massive blow with Issac Luke and Luke Keary facing NRL suspension for shoulder charges.

Keary is facing one to two weeks on the sidelines after being charged for a hit on North Queensland's Justin O'Neill in Souths' win in Townsville on Thursday night.

Rabbitohs hooker Luke is facing three to four weeks out after being charged with a shoulder charge and dangerous throw in the same game.

Five-eighth Keary was at his aggressive best for the Rabbitohs but appeared to overdo it in the first half when he went hard at Cowboys centre O'Neill.

He did not appear to separate his arm from his side as required under the revised shoulder charge law.

Keary was not penalised or put on report but the tackle was picked up by the match review committee given the crackdown announced by the NRL on the shoulder charge last week.

After being charged with a grade-one offence, he will miss the side's clash with Canterbury next week with an early guilty plea.

Luke has been charged for a shoulder charge on Cowboys half-back Johnathan Thurston and a dangerous throw on full-back Lachlan Coote.

Should he accept early guilty pleas for both, he will miss the Rabbitohs' final three games of the regular season.

His ban will stretch into the first week of the finals should he contest the ban.
